Sunshade Bargain. A heads up.

Now that it is getting real warm here in the NorthEast I was checking out the official MINI sunshade at $45plus and found a generic one called "Type S" that more or less fits fairly well that is available at Advanced Auto Parts for $8.00 and change. Works for me. Also it matches the hyper blue MINIs.

I got mine for around that much from Target. Folds up into a little disc and fits behind the seat back. This model is for small cars.

No pics yet. Camera coming soon.

No pics yet. Camera coming soon. This one folds up fanlike and has a velcro strap. Will stow on back floor or whatever. Kind of cool looking...silver on one side and blue on other. Its a deal. Looks well enough made.

Sunshade at Advance auto parts is for front windshield only.

Sunshade at Advance auto parts is for front windshield only. Ask for the small one that fits the MINI.

wish I had an "Advance Auto Parts" here in NY.... Autozone is right around the corner; I'll have to look for one. Hot here the past few days. 94 and humid tomorrow. Ugh.

I broke out my official MINI sun shade today (the rigid one). It looks great, but I sure wish it fit better. Oh, well....it does feature that gorious MINI logo front and center, so it looks like it fits...and that's all the oglers car about, right?!!!

(shhhh).......j/k....if you can find something that fits better, get it!!!

Are you saying that the OEM MINI one does not fit the windshield well? Was thinking of splurging on it for an ideal fit...

^^^^Mine doesn't. I mean it fits and all but the sun visors don't hold it in place w/o some fidgeting and it bumps the rear-view mirror out-of-whack whenever I install/remove it. Mine is an '03 model...maybe the new ones are better. I'd double check.

No, it doesn't cover the top part plus the sun visor doesn't hold it well.

My S.O. has a much better one for her tC. I will check the brand when I get home.

Sun Visor holds the shade nicely in the one from Advance Auto Parts.

It has suction cups but you don't nee them. Visors hold it fine.

autozone and advanced both carry the Type S brand products, type s makes other universal stuff too, such as a sparco racing seat cell phone holder and some nice directional LED accent lights.
