Anybody thought of doing this? I usually use absorber chamios to dry off my MCS and they work great but as with any drying process its a bit time consuming.
Well this past week i was having my clear bra installed on my one week old 05' MCS. My installer of course gives the entire car a quick wash before bringing it into his install bay. Then he breaks out one of these!
Black & Decker Blower Vac
Sears item #07174044000 Mfr. model #BV4000
Powerful 230 MPH blow speed, and 380 CFM. Push button conversion plus easy empty bag design. Anti-clog vortex vacuum system. 10 to 1 mulch ratio. 2 speed switch.
All i could say was "WOW, Why the hell didn't i think of that!?" He had the car spotless and incredibly dry in 3 minutes! One pass of the roof, bonnet, and sides... BOOM super dry MINI. The best part is that it was one less thing touching and rubbing the paint that could possibly cause swirl marks and scratches! He also says its great at knocking water out of all the little cracks that usually drip out when you first move a car after a wash.
Me and a few friends are now itching to buy these!
I have been drying my MINI with an electric blower vac for about 2 years now. I was given the idea by Steve Treece. Steve is a Zanio distributor and has done detailing clinics for our MINI club (M2C2).

I do this in order to get the water out of the mesh grills, wheels, and trim reveals around the headlights, cowl vents, gas cap, tail lights, and such
The blower combined with chamois and microfibers are king! However, it is the detailing of the tires and skirt mouldings that are the time consuming parts of the car. I typically wash and detail once a week much to my wife's chagrin

How things been going???? I missed Deal's Gap this year.
Yes, it works great on the Mini. I have a Toro 215 hp one I got at Home Depo for about $59 bucks (electric). It's great! It pretty much does the whole car. The water just rolls off the car as it beads up. A little bit of Z6 and I'm done!
I've even used it a few times for it's intended purpose too!
Here's a MINI owner caught in the act of using one!!!

215 hp for less than $60???? If someone can develop a kit to swap motors then John Cooper Works will have some serious competition!
