Pollen.. the yellow stuff..

Is it okay to leave pollen on the car for couple days?
Car is dirty, but it will be raining soon and i don't see myself washing it everytime it gets all yellow.
Do these stuff stick to the paint or leave some kind of mark?
don't really want a yellowed out white top in years to come.

In our area, the yellow pollen (which is mostly tree pollen) coats everything. Unless your car is garaged 24 hours a day, it's going to have a yellow coat on it.

The only precaution I take is to spray wash the car thouroughly before putting a cloth or wash mitt of any kind to the paint. The pollen is a bit abrasive and will scratch the surface if it's rubbed in.

So, I use a fairly good stream of water from my garden hose to rinse the car well before I wash.

Anyone else????

Maybe the electric blower vac is the solution to the yellow pollen problem!?

I'll second that! Generally the heavy yellow stuff is pine pollen. Seen under a scope it looks like tiny golf balls with spikes all over. Wiping the stuff off is a bad idea. Blowing it off works, but can be mildly abrasive if your approach is fairly aggressive. Best way is copious amounts of low pressure water.

Some thing down here. Just hose it off - the stuff doesn't stain. On the bright side though, we all have LY MINIs during Spring! You can also keep on top of it by using a California Duster each morning when the build-up is still light. Tricky to get off of the black bits but it at least keeps everything presentable.
