clear coat necessary?

I touched up a spot by wetting sanding it, etc. and I waxed over it. intially, I used the clearcoat and then wiped it off because it didn't look good. Should I apply it and then wax over it? Not sure if it's necessary.

What color are you talking about??? Some colors EB touch up requires clearcoat for a color match. Other Colors for touch up may not need the clear. Check with the outfit that color matched your car they should know if the clear is required or not. Good luck got any pics

In may look fine now but after years of weather, uv rays etc the paint that has clear and the paint that does not will age diffrently and it will show.

No pics of the sanded area but I have pics of the car in the gallery. It's LY..when the weather is better I might put the clearcoat on. The paint is from MINI and it came with clearcoat.

Hey there! You said it's from MINI - where can you buy it? The MINI site? The dealer? I need to know. The harsh NE Ohio winter was a little rough on Dobby. Stupid stone chips and potholes and salt...
