Take a look at this last weekend at Meguiar's---two new tools were used to get these wheels looking like they are--the brushes are super soft:

BEFORE (3 weeks of brake dust from EBC Greenstuff pads)

WASHING

FINISHED A FEW MINUTES LATER

Picture of Brush used:

Other Tool Used which looks like a large pipe cleaner--fits in the tighest places and is even bendable to form right angles to get in tight spots.

I do all my wheel cleaning with foam bottle brushes. ($2 an WalMart, K-Mart, grocery stores, etc.) Super-safe on painted and clearcoated wheels. Gets anywhere even "behind" the spokes because of it's shape.

BTW...the car looks great!!!! Fantastic picture.

BradB,

Thanks! I was waiting for Flik Wasp Anthracite for a long time and they would not have them in stock until end of January. I just could not wait that long so I went with these silver wheels...I though I could miss a couple of spots on the Anthracite, but for these silver wheels..no..no

The pipe cleaner look brush is actually new product called "Safety Tip Wheel Spoke Brush" from Meguiar's.

I think the best thing you can do is wax your wheels!!! Helps everything slide off easier and the cleaning process usually goes by quicker.

This is a great idea. Why didn't I think of that?

So what is the best thing to spray my wheels with that will cut the brake dust and make cleaning easier?

one word of caution about this style brush:The bristles are wound around a metal core ,and at the very tip this core is quite exposed.I scratched the bejeezus out of one of my wheels with this ONCE I haven't used it again since.

That's one reason I shy away from most brushes!

Absolutely! Wax them with a polymer based heat resistant wax inside and out every few months. I use either Zaino or Klasse with great results.

I wax my wheels when I wax my car. I received the advice from a friend. It does make the cleaning go quicker.
