3 coats of Zaino, plus claybar

I finally found some time to do my MCS right this morning and afternoon. I started with the Dawn wash, and then proceeded to use the Zaino claybar on the car, a Zaino wash and finished up with three coats of Zaino Z-2 show car polish for clear coat finishes. My MINI has never looked so good. I let the polish dry for 3 hours between coats. I would recommend these products to everyone. I wish my wife had brought her digital camera home so that I could take some pictures. Simply amazing.

Hope you used the ZFX curing accelerator

Just put the third coat of Z5 on my wife's MCS...........however it's been relatively cold & wet in Upstate NY, so I've been letting each coat dry overnight just to make sure. Can't believe how easily the water runs off during the wash stage; almost like it's Teflon coated

Wait until tomorrow. When the Zaino sealants cure overnight, it really looks much better.

I scratched and swirled on my driver's side door the first time I used Zaino claybar. I didn't use enough solution. Blame it on the user, not on Zaino.

I have used Zaino products on one of my cars for about 7 years, but I don't have the Claybar. Pls tell me about it. WHen do you need it? How do you use it? What does it do? Etc.

Thanks,
Rawhyde

"Claying" removes the hard to deal with grime that is present on even new cars, rail dust from the rail yards, sap, overspray etc. My view is thatthe sooner you clay and polish a new car, the longer the protection and the better the shine...assuming you use a polish as good as Zaino... Their site has a bunch of tips and stuff...

I did the same with a Clay Magic bar as well.

Just re-did my MCS Friday with another coat of Zaino Z5, for black cars. I love this stuff!
I bought my MCS used from a Chrysler dealer. I gather they thought they were doing me a favor by polishing the car with ... whatever. It was full of polish swirl marks, friggin awful!
I ordered Zaino and did just what ‘kfmuller’ did. WOW! like brand new. No more swirl marks at all.
I just ordered my second supply of Zaino products yesterday. Got the leather cleaner and treatment this time too.
Not sure I like the car soap though. Seems to leave water spots so quick that they are embedded before I can get to it with the shammi. Have better luck with Meguiars, but not sure if it removes the Z product.

Anyone try the California Water Blade? Love this thing!

No, you'll be perfectly fine with the Meguiars car shampoo (in fact, any quality car shampoo)....it won't strip the Zaino at all

Zaino shampoo is absolutely one of my favorites and will enhance the slickness of the Zaino finish. Using the Meguiars will not hurt anything but it has a carnauba ingredient and will leave a carnauba residue on the finish. This contaminates the polymer finish and will do a couple things: 1 It degrades at a different rate and you might at some point notice a streaking in the finish. This is the carnauba wearing off. It will give a inconsistant look. If you want to add additional coats of Zaino you will have to be sure you strip off all that carnauba because it will inibit the bonding of the additional layers of Zaino. Also, the Z6 quick detailer will not work as well on top of a carnauba.

Not sure why you are seeing any spotting with Zaino Z7 shampoo. In my many years of usage I have NEVER had this happen. I suggest you are using to little in your mix, perhaps. (?) Or you are letting the car dry too fast? Not sure. But anyway, I never had an issue.
