Wheel Repair/Refinishing...

I performed this repair on my Audi S4 wheels but methds would be identical for the silver MINI wheels so I thought I would post it here as well. I have an extra set of MINI wheels and did a colour test and was very satisfied with the results.
........................................
I had a couple damaged wheels on the S4. One had been curbed and one dropped on it's face on rough concrete and the clearcoat bunged up pretty bad on 3 of the spokes.

I prepped by sanding the clearcoat all the way off in spots and feathering smooth with 1500 and 2000 sandpaper. I filed on the curbed one as well. I painted last week with this paint and this week I clearcoated it for protection. I didn't paint the whole wheel, I simply blended into the good areas.

It also works good just spraying into the lid and brushing on for small areas like edges that have been curbed.

I am absolutely thrilled with the results.

just a reminder that when performing cosmetic rim repair on curbed rim lips, that the wheel will likely balance differently afterward.

I'm mainly referring to these types of repairs:

I fixed the link. Celia, Maria. Thanks RallyMINI. The Wurths and 1Z paint are exactly the same thing.

I've since done yet ANOTHER wheel touch up...about 3" worth of rim area on the MINI rims. WHY ME, WHY ME? Ha!

I spoke with my Mini Dealership about repairing a few dings on my wheels. He said they have touch-up paint in grey (silver), white, & some other color (I forgot ). I am picking some up when I go in for servicing this Friday. Will let ya know how it works out
