Drove through pink paint!
I didn't see it on the road, but I have pink paint spatters all along the drivers side of the car. It's on the paint and the black trim. I tried a clay bar, but it just wasn't happening. What do I do????
Thanks!
- Angie

You never said what color your car is.
The same thing happend to me a couple weeks ago. I ran over some grey epoxy or oil based paint. I washed the car to remove the dirt off the panels. Then I used laquer thinner with lots of microfiber towels to get as much off as possible, followed by a clay bar and then a buffer with microfine polish. Wash, wax, good as new.
I even used laquer thinner on the black plastic parts and followed up with some Lexol Vinylex. You can't even tell it happend now. I also pulled the fender liners off the car to get rid of all the dots.
If you have any doubts on your ability to clean it safely, you might want to take it to a body/detail shop. Most insurance comprehensive policys will cover paint removal.

It's Indi Blue/Black. My sig is showing now -- I didn't check the show sig box before or you would have known. Sorry...
Thanks for the advice. I didn't know if laquer thinner would be safe or not, but since you did it I guess it is! I was just searching online for an answer and someone recommended mineral spirits -- would that maybe be safer than thinner? I think it's probably latex paint, but who knows.
I think we have some mineral spirits and laquer thinner in the garage. I'll try both in the morning and report back.
And here I am, just bought some Meguiar's NXT Generation Wax -- I was all ready to clay bar for the first time and try this new wax! Then I found the PINK! I love pink and everything, but not on my Indi Blue! And since Bruiser is a boy car, I don't think he likes it either!
Thanks again. I'll post again with results.

If it is latex, try real hot soapy water with a microfiber towel. The hot water might soften the pink paint.

Try some common rubbing alcohol (ie, isopropyl) or WD-40.
(These are my favorite low-risk cleaners...)

The results are in....
Hot soapy water: Not a chance
Goof-off: Nope
Mineral spirits: Uh huh
WD-40: Didn't phase it
Enamel Reducer: Bingo!
No harm to the finish, took it right off the paint and trim. I'm so relieved.
Thanks for all the replies. Now I can move on to my clay bar treatment and NXT! Yea!

After the tedious removal of the pink paint. I did the dawn wash, clay bar, dawn wash and one coat of the NXT wax. Here's the before and afters. I think it looks pretty good. What do you guys think? Do I need another coat or two?
Before NXT

After NXT

Sorry, but your car looks better in the "before" picture!

I agree! It's probably just the lighting...
NXT is great stuff! You don't need more than one coat. The thinner you apply it, the better. If you apply too much, it just takes longer to dry, will smear if it's not dry, and wastes product as well.
Just remember that NXT won't last as long as some other products, but since I like to keep my baby looking her best, it's not an issue for me. I wax on average about once a month. If I only waxed once or twice a year, I'd probably go with something else, like Zaino. I used to use Zaino, but having to put on multiple applications ('steps') took so long that I only wanted to do it once or twice a year!

Different times of day. Before was yesterday evening, after was about 11:00 this morning. It really does look WAY better. Went to Target this afternoon and you should see it in full sun -- better than it's ever looked. I always used Meguiar's Gold Class before and there's really no comparison. We were at a family thing this afternoon and my nephew who is a Zaino guy was mucho impressed.

Wow, looks like you got the help you needed. A friend of mine drove through a deeper puddle of a very dirt-like color of paint with his Camaro. Imagine how pissed he was when he first discovered it was paint......
Hope you got it all sorted out.
I did order a whole set of the trim parts to have em painted to matchg my body.
If there are any uncleanable lemme know we can talk price. I will not ask much for a used trim panel.
