Eagle One Surface Prep Mitt results

Tried the Eagle One Surface Prep Mitt for the first time today after washing the car in the rain (yeah I was that bored). It's a great alternative to the clay bar. I used the recommended lubricant, Eagle One's Spray Wipe & Shine. My R53 was rarely washed by the PO, and after 60k miles, the paint felt more like sandpaper, but now, smooth as silk. Plus it only took about 25 min.

Highly recommend this product. I'll take a pic tomorrow after I have a chance to wax it, assuming it finally stops raining as well.

Interesting, how do you clean the mitt, and how often? I thought the point of the clay was to contain the dirt and grit when you fold it, then discard the clay.

That is the purpose of the clay, yes. But with the mitt after a body panel, you just rinse it off and keep going. Drop it on the ground, just rinse it off, keep going, try that with a clay bar.

The black area of the mitt is a unique polymer that traps the dirt using static, same concept as the clay, different method. The mitt costs about $20 and can be reused on several occasions, they advertise as up to 10 vehicles. You will need to use a lubricant like the one I mentioned, another $7

Looks like a good product to quickly detail your ride. Can you use it on the wheels?

I'm sure you could, but not sure how well it would work. Wheel paint is quite soft, any impregnated dirt will likely stay there.
