removing cupholder adhesive/foam bits from downtube

I just removed my OEM cupholder bracket and some foam/adhesive remains stuck to the downtube. I saw a post from someone who said just rolling your finger up and down will remove it, but this hasn't worked for me. What's the safest method to get rid of this? thanks.

I like goo-gone .... or goof-off ... but you can try cooking oil.

WD40 or Googone with soft towel.

WD40 and rubbing with my finger worked - the towel didn't seem to help much. thanks.
