Using epic, Did I do something wrong, or is it getting old?
After seeing Nick's email on getting the cars ready for the fall / winter, I decided to put a fresh coat of Epic on my car. I shook the bottle well, and used my PC with the red pad to apply. When it was time to take it off, it required significant effort. What did I do wrong? or is my 2 year old bottle of Epic just not the same?
Here was my process.
I washed it Saturday night, dried it, and left it in the garage til morning.
Clayed the car using Griots Speedshine and Clay.
I wiped it dry, and applied Griots Paint Prep to clean off any residue.
Using my PC and a red pad, I applied a very thin coat of Epic
Waited 60 minutes
Worked up quite a sweat, wiping off the Epic haze with microfiber towel
It looks good, but took too much work.

I agree with Melissa. If Epic is hard to wipe off, it hasn't dried enough. I think I've preached this method quite often in the forums. You can't determine whether a wax is dry simply by time. It varies based on how thick the layer is, the humidity, the temperature.
If you think it's dry, do a little swipe with your finger. If the swiped area looks smeary, it's not ready to be wiped off yet. Do several tests around the car.
If your car is garaged, just apply it before you go to bed, and wipe it off the next morning. It'll come off VERY easily as long as it's dry.

I don't think I applied it too heavy, so I am hoping that I just did not allow enough drying time. I will try the overnight method next time.
Thanks!
