hey guys new to the forum but yeah anywho went to go fill up for some gas when i was confronted by a sales man trying to pitch a product to me called fw1 racing formula by rgs labs inc. and was wondering if anyone here has heard of it or has had it and had any good reviews on it....it says that it is a waterless car wash with carnuba wax in a can....more info on the site http://rgslabs.com/
what are your opinions on the waterless car wash system?
think its an all go and get it product?
anyone ever tried this product? pros and cons?
supposedly from what the dude told me was "this is a secret cleaning system that only racers like nascar use....also used on lambo's, bently's, rolls royce etc....and now we are selling to the public because of its enviromental purpose and conservation on drought...."
Two posts in NAM and this is what your second one is ? A half arse pitch for some crappy product...Ok, I'll bite and give you my 2 cents.
First off, rinsing your car is a critical part of washing the car. It loosens and removes dirt particles which would otherwise scratch your paint surface if allowed to remain and be scrubbed free with a cloth or other applicator.....
I also doubt very much that this specific product by RG ever saw the likes of a Lambo or other exotic car since it's inception.............or NASCAR since anything that touches a NASCAR vehicle is sponsored and thus advertised on the car.
The fact that some turd is pushing this stuff at a gas station should be clue as well as to it's value and performance........
This green crapola he mentions dose nothing but make everyone feel guilty for being human, inflate our taxes, and destroy our economic strength as a nation.......push back HARDER and be a man. USE WATER !

I have to agree with -=gRay rAvEn=- (had to copy and paste that name! )
Regardless of the product you use, in order to significantly reduce your scratch risk you need to use water to clean your paint. It's just a matter of physics. Chemistry can often help us with the laws of physics but it usually can't change them THAT dramatically.
If the paint is just slightly dusty, then you can sometimes get away with a quick detailer or duster or similar approach. But that would be to dust the car, not clean it when it's dirty.
I would be skeptical for sure. I think you'd just be asking for scratching by not using water.
Waterless huh? Hmmm, does that mean it doesn't use additional water to wash your car? Or is this product completely free of water? Highly doubtful unless it's diluted with an oil or silicone or something other than water.
Just how waterless is this product?
Considering you joined today, and probably don't have a MINI, I'd have to say this is a pretty lousy attempt at spamming our forum.
But to answer your question from a professional point of view.
"what are your opinions on the waterless car wash system?"
Products like this use carnauba wax to help fill in the scratches and swirls instilled by you wiping off the grit off the paint.
"think its an all go and get it product?"
Sure if we were to believe that you really went to a gas station and some guy was hawking this product to you.
"anyone ever tried this product? pros and cons?"
Of course! What do you know about the two bucket wash method? What do you know about swirls? Pros? It's a waste of money that will give you the false sense of security making you think it's safe for your paint. Cons...well, this post smells highly of a con.....
"supposedly from what the dude told me was "this is a secret cleaning system that only racers like nascar use....also used on lambo's, bently's, rolls royce etc....and now we are selling to the public because of its enviromental purpose and conservation on drought...."
Just because you own an expensive car doesn't mean you know anything about car care. These guys will hire a $25 mobile car wash guy that swirls and scratches their paint and leaves buffer trails all over it. If the last Ferrari I saw earlier this week that was completely swirled out used this product, I guess I wouldn't be surprised at all.
Now tell us about YOUR MINI! What type of gas did you put in? How many gallons? What year is it? What color is it? Please share with us all the details about your MINI.

Products like this use carnauba wax to help fill in the scratches and swirls instilled by you wiping off the grit off the paint.
Addendum: Insert "temporarily" between help and fill. In other words, the wax helps temporarily fill the scratches/swirls to trick your eye into thinking you didn't just scratch the paint when you, in all likelihood, have.

I can't express well enough how much I agree! Unfortunately, I think we've all seen the above scenario more often than not. Those poor exotics and super-cars!

Sorry we all seem so skeptical of your post.... we've just seen marketers jump on forums like this from time to time with a similar pitch and very few (if any) other posts on NAM. Of course, we do hope that we've just misunderstood you... so talk to us! Are you a MINI owner?? We'd all love to chat more with you but just want to make sure you're here for the right reasons. (note that if you are not a MINI owner but work for a company to do marketing, you need to abide by the vendor policies here and purchase NAM sponsorship before posting product info)
I saw a guy who drove a Ferrari use Windex and a towel that he laid on the ground - the ground as in dirt and gravel -wiping his car down at the HPR car show the other day. I was going to say something but why even bother?
I should have said "You know, pee will get that paint extra clean and leave no streaks either".
