Foam Applicator Pads?

My cousin gave me some foam applicator pads (round disc shaped), they sort of look like the ones Detailer's Domain posted, and told me to use those for applying wax. From reading these forums and such, it seems like the recommended applicator is a microfiber pad. Can these foam pads be used to apply wax (BG) or Amigo, or will they scratch the paint? TIA from a detailing newbie.

if the pad is soft you can use it to apply wax, sealants, Amigo.

i would wash it before use and keep it stored in a container or ziplock bag after use.

If they are the same as DD is selling they are too rough for wax. I use them (actually bought them from Adams) for plastic and tire treating. Nice durable foam but I would not use them for wax.

The applicators I have look similar to the yellow or red foam applicators. I've just heard more about mf applicators for wax instead of foam ones. Thanks for all the input so far.

I don't really like using microfiber for wax application, I much prefer foam.
More of preference the feel "handling" of the foam I much prefer.

The mf apps seem to eat up more product as well.

Best pads for me!!!

I personaly like the terry-towel covered pads to put the Zaino on my car. They are great at holding and spreading wax or polish and won't scratch the paint. Just be careful you don't drop it on the ground. If you do just rinse it and be certain no grit is on it before using it again.

i only use foam as well. the only time i use MF towel to apply is when i need to do some touchup or spot waxing.

terry pads that ive bought locally all end up swirling the paint. so no go for me.

Are you using pads for an orbital buffer to apply your wax manually?

Not 100% sure how you are swirling your paint via MF pads, but when I hand wax they have never done that.

I think every single detailer that has an online shop, who posts here, sells pads for less than Griots Garage... just sayin, might wanna throw some business their way, as they give us a TON of advice for free daily!

G'luck
