Water Stain on Headliner
As the title makes clear, I (foolishly) forgot to close my sunroof vent one afternoon, fell asleep, and woke to a torrential downpour. Enough rain seeped in that portions of the headliner were soaked. I blotted up as best I could, then used a carpet/fabric spray shampoo. While it helped, there's still discoloring.
Suggestions welcome.

is that the dye? if so you're out of luck.
your best bet is to remove the headliner (the entire thing)
out of the car and wet it down completely so that the
discoloration is uniform.
kinda like wetting down your leather jacket after running
through the rain.

Dye? Are you saying the headliner is dyed white?

Anyway...
Does anyone have a detailing suggestion for eliminating water stains on the headliner?
Thanks.

Many times we would have ball point pen ink stains on the sidewall (material was similar to a headliner) in the cabins of our aircraft. Maintenance would a use hair spray called Aqua Net or something like that and spray it on a soft cloth and work the stain out. You could not see the stain after their efforts. If it removed ink stains. it may work on a water stain--might be worth a try. Anyway that would be the direction I would go in a situation like yours before taking any drastic measures. Good Luck!
