I done a search of the detailing forum with almost no definite results.
I've got an '03 MCS with the leather seats.
I've tried the wipes in a container; I think it was from Maguire's. Cleans and moisturizes, but makes the seats really slick. Makes it tough on the sharp twisties to stay in my seat.
What is a good treatment to apply that I can buy over the counter at a local car parts store?
Thanks in advance.

Q: Why do I spend extra money and wait longer to get leather care products from online specialty sources if I can get stuff that does what I want at the local auto parts store?
A: I don't. I haven't found any products at the local auto parts store that provide the characteristics I'm looking for - characteristics that sound like what *you* are looking for, also...
Two key parts to getting leather in a nice, supple, non-slick condition:
1) cleaning
2) conditioning
The Lexol cleaner (available at the local store) works fine on leather that isn't in terrible condition - I use that. On leather that has been neglected for years and that has the pores effectively blocked, preventing any conditioner from "soaking in", you may need something more aggresive, like the specialty (and expensive) Leatherique products to effectively "restore" the leather.
For conditioning, the two products I've found that I like are:
* Prima Nourish for periodic deep conditioning (you massage it in with your hands, and it dries to a non-shiny non-slick finish (as long as the leather pores aren't blocked, see above) - I use it once every month or two
* Griot's LeatherCare Spray for frequent light conditioning - spray it on and wipe it off each time you clean up your interior - I use it every week or two
For folks who are happy with your current products - I'm glad! Not trying to start any wars here. Just suggesting what worked for me after being disappointed with many, many things I had tried previously.

this has been the best product for me as far as leather treatment in my G thus far. so easy to use, dries matte.
wipes belong on baby's buttox. they are never consistent when applying onto seats and panels. i hate them.
I'm more of a Leatherique person myself... the seats, when completed are not slippery at all... nice and soft. It is an intensive system though... I might try to Griot's next time.

Leatherique is really one of those things you only need to use rarely, in my experience. The Griot's or Nourish are great maintenance products to use between the intensive leatherique treatments.

I've tried a lot of the various products, from the expensive stuff, to the kinda wierd (Hide Food), to the less expensive (read "cheap), and the best product I've found is Lexol. I apply it with a terry-covered sponge, work as much into the leather as it will absorb, wait a few minutes, then briskly wipe off any excess. I've never found it to be slippery, actually the opposite!
As for the Meguiars, and this is my opinion only, it's total crap, with a capital K.
I'm just sayin'....
