Yes, there is some benefit to layering
Prima Banana Gloss (aka BG).
The biggest benefit is in its filling/concealing abilities, which ultimately affects the depth and glossiness of the final look.
You should allow 1-3 hours between layers though, so the resins have time to harden in each layer. Every layer will fill and conceal, so the number of effective layers depends on your paint's condition (and color, in terms of the perceived effect).
The carnauba component layers to some degree, but not as much as the filling/concealing component. To maximize the carnauba layering, be sure to
apply additional layers rather quickly and with a light hand. There are some cleansers in BG which, when worked in, will remove a small portion of the carnauba. But because BG flash dries so quickly, then as long as you don't work it in
(like you might if you were using it as a polish-wax combo and needed to do some deep paint cleansing) then you won't be activating the cleanser enough to remove the carnauba. Either way, your final layer of BG will have plenty of carnauba in it anyway so it's a bit of a moot point really.
Since you're applying BG over Epic then you aren't using BG for its cleansing anyway. So, just apply it quickly and with a light hand and wait 1-3 hours
(depending on air temp and humidity) between layers. You will get more depth and gloss out of the layering.
Re: Epic layering
You can also layer Epic, but, as you alluded, the benefit of additional layers is minimal, especially beyond 1 additional layer. I would say that 1 additional layer can produce a 20-30% improvement in looks and maybe a 10-20% improvement in durability over the original layer. Another layer after that barely produces much improvement (IMO). It's the law of diminishing returns at work here.
If you do layer Epic, you must allow a full 24 hours between layers. Epic needs to fully cure between layers.
A few of our customers layer Epic regularly for those subtle improvements but most (myself included) find it a better cost-benefit use of Epic to just do one layer. IMO, it is so powerful with just one layer that the extra work and product of another layer just isn't worth it for me personally.
That said, I often
do recommend 2 layers of Epic if it's someone's first time using Epic. This is because Epic can be hard to see and should be applied in a very thin layer. Knowing you're going to do a second coat anyway puts you at ease... you don't have to wonder if you've missed a wee spot as you work on applying it very thin. In most cases, once you get the hang of a perfect app of Epic then 1 layer is all you need.
Finally, I think you'll enjoy the combined benefits of Epic and Banana Gloss. Together, they have the best of all worlds. Have fun!
