This morning I walked out to my car to go to work. Go back to open the hatch and notice that someone tried to pry off the MINI wings on the hatch. They managed to crack it and scratch up the paint surrounding it.
So, my questions are:
1. Does anyone recommend someplace online to order a new MINI wing
2. How do I take off the old one without adding more to the damage already done?
3. Fortunately, most of the scratches do not look too deep, only a couple down to primer. On the ones that can be buffed out, what readily available product would you guys recommend. I currently have some Nu Finish Scratch Doctor. Is that good enough?
I always live in fear of my car getting vandalized. I live in a town that has the highest crime rate per capita in all of Canada.
I took the "Cooper" badge off my car with dental floss... just flossed that bad boy right off. Did not damage the paint one bit. Can you not "floss" off the Mini logo? I assume it is just a super strong adhesive backing. Might be best to heat it up a bit with a blow dryer.
Nu finish worked on my VW Beetle when I used to have it. Someone keyed my car. I did about five coats of Nu Finish, and turtle wax and it was pretty much impossible to see after that. The car was silver though... red might be more difficult.
And I hope you have been reading my posts for the last two years and have low Comprehensive deductible on your auto policy.
If you have scratches down to the primer, that's more than you can handle with polish and a buffer. It needs to be repaired by a body shop. Unless you're a professional autobody technician.

There just appears to be two very small nicks down to primer, very close to the edge of the badge. After I get off the badge, I plan on polishing the other scratches as best as I can and using touch up on the small nicks. Hopefully it won't be too noticeable. If that doesn't work, then I'll probably go to a bodyshop.

Cool.
Do you have a Langka kit ? Would make that touch up a lot less noticeable.
