Good all purpose interior cleaner

Hi all

I'm pretty confident about keeping the outside of the mini in good shape, but the interior is kind of a mystery. I'm not exactly sure what to use to clean the leatherette seats. Is there a decent product you could recommend that would do dual purpose between the seats and dash?

Thank you very much for your time

+1 for Nero if you are looking for a protectant and mild cleaner. A more powerful cleaner would be something like Einszett Z1 Plastic Deep Cleaner. You would want to follow it with Nero for the UV protection.

Meguiar's Quik Interior Detailer works very well for cleaning all interior surfaces without leaving any residue or slickness behind and it's got a nice lemon scent. But I would follow that with Nero as that makes the interior surfaces look better than new.

I just use a damp cloth to wipe everything down, but my interior never gets very dirty. I like 303 Aerospace protectant for UV blockage. My Mini is closing in on 5 years of being parked in the sun and the interior looks brand new.

I really really love Griot's Interior Cleaner. I've used it on the leatherette, the dash, the carpet, the headliner...it works on everything! It took some nasty fingerprints off the headliner of my old car with almost no effort.

Then I follow up on the dash vinyl/leatherette with Prima Nero to condition it

+1 on the Griot's Interior Cleaner if you've got any actual dirt/stains to remove. It cleaned up the 35-year-old floor mats in my Mercedes when nothing else would touch the stains.

For light cleaning/protection, I like Nero as well. The matte finish it leaves behind is just about perfect for me.

I've used just about everything to clean the interior. From a couple of drops of dish soap in a gallon of water, highly diluted Simple Green, 303, and Nero. For deep cleaning, the soap and water are fine, for light cleaning, protection, Nero gets my vote.

I like to use a swiffer duster for a quick clean up and nero or 303 to make the vinyl and dash look good. A good tip for around the toggle switches and radio is to put nero on a tiny foam paint brush.

If you want something you don't have to order or to hold you over until you get your shipment. Turtle wax ice makes an ok interior cleaner. It does add shine if you like that, but not too much. On rubber floor mats it does add a touch of slipperiness. But for a super cheap easy to find cleaner it does pretty well. I look forward to trying Nero.

I second Meguiar's QID. I use it a lot. It doesn't leave that Armor All shiny finish but does contain UV protection and smells very good/clean.

Just used it yesterday.

It may sound strange, but I use a very diluted solution of Murphy's Oil Soap in warm water (like a cap full of soap to a bucket of water) and use a microfiber towel to wipe everything down. It doesn't leave any residue and is very mild. Strong enough to get the dirt off without hurting anything. I also like the fact that it doesn't leave any kind of sheen...I hate that.
