Ding Protectors
Sorry if this in wrong section
I pick up my mini in a few weeks and I willl be parking her in a nyc garage. As you can imagine, dings are common. Has anyone used a magnetic ding protector you can put on your car doors to help prevent dings? Do they work? If so what brand?
Thanks

I haven't read about them for a while.
However, the last car forum I belonged to (Mustang), the general consensus was that you invite more trouble with having the protectors on than they save. Sad state of affairs...

My car cover is thick enough that it protects from door dings and hail damage--it's actually advertised that way.

We had golfball-sized hail here last night. Fortunately I got my MINI garaged before the onslaught. Others weren't so lucky and got peppered with dents, and starbursts in windshields. How thick is that car cover of yours? Obviously any cover will diffuse the impact some, but... not sure I'd want to find out!

I have used the Door Defender for 9 months with no dings or problems. I still park in end spots so I only have to put one on one side of the car.

On stormy nights I put a thick blanket down over the bonnet and windshield then put my cover over it. Before I had my cover I just had the kids hold the blanket over the MINI - guess what they bought me last Father's Day?
