Cleaning up the interior.. headliner, seats..

I'm at a loss for interior detailing...

What can I use to attack my dirty headliner, it has a few dirt smudges and this ugly streak thats made up of some oily grime.

How about the Mini's door panels or that grey/white plastic that is used on the A-pillars? Would 303 work the best here? I have a few grimy/oily smudges here and I cant seem to wipe them off.

And of course, the seats.. I feel my seats (cloth, not leather) need a deep wash but all of those foam seat cleaners look pretty crappy, would steam cleaning really work?

Much obliged to be pointed in the right direction here...

Mike

On the headliner, use a lint roller, or masking tape wrapped on your hand(sticky side out) to get dust and hair off first.

303 makes a fabric cleaner that works well for cleaning.

The 303 Aerospace is more a protectant than a cleaner. Use a solution of Simplegreen/water, mixed 50/50 to clean the interior plastic, then the 303.

I'm a fan of the 303 Fabric Cleaner too. Headliners are always a pain. It is kind in a bad spot since you don't want to scrub too much or you might make it shiny and clean instead of just clean. Let it soak and try to minimize the scrubbing.
For your plastic bits try Einszett Plastic Cleaner. It is one of my favorites for tough dirt on plastic (I even use it on carpet for really nasty stains). Smells lemony in a German kind of way. After treating Prima Nero will keep it good looking.

One very important thing to remember about cleaning fabric, don't scrub it, use more of a blotting action, otherwise you just spread the dirt/stain. Blotting will tend to lift it.

Thanks fellas, I really appreciate the help!

Would the 303 work just as well on the seats? They have that tired/dusty look even after I tried sponge cleaning them out with some textile cleaner :/

I use a lint roller on the headliner, and Griot's Interior Cleaner on EVERYTHING, especially the headliner. A little on a MF and I just dab away and it just comes right off.

I use the 303 on my cloth seats as well. Spray, scrub with a stiff brush then wet-vac and let dry.

Not a Detailing Product most people know about...Club Soda in a Spray Bottle and a White Terry Towel. Spray spot and dab w/towel. Works great on Velour Interiors, Headliners as well.
