My bucket cart

Well this is just the prototype, but I think this is going to work well. I used composite decking so rot is not an issue, plus it has some weight to it, helps keep it stable.

I still need to refine it somewhat, round over all edges, let the cross members into the rails, bolt rather than screw the caster on. But I think this will work. With the buckets, materials cost about $60.

With my model

It rolls great, even on an uneven surface, and the bucket handles work for pulling it around.

o0o0o since you are putting it together how about some rubber on the corners? just in case it takes off on a wild roll for your doors or fender?

Looks like you are using casters.
I like it, looks sturdy and I agree that a little rubber or foam on the corners would be prudent.
Should paint it red so it will be faster!

Yes, I agree that it could use some rubber corners, I'll have to find some. First I need to notch out the sides to receive the top and bottom rails, this will make it stronger, and lower the profile a couple of inches. If/when I make another one I think I'll use thinner material for the rails to help lower weight.

As for painting it, I'd rather not. I choose the composite wood (plastic) so there would be no issues with it rotting, and getting a paint that would stick and not peel off is just not worth it. If I did paint it though it would be BRG, because it has racing build in.

I agree the only color you could Paint, if you were so inclined, is BRG.

Nice use of old TV stand! Looks like a TV stand wood to me.

Get some old weather striping and use that for bumpers.

I'da tried to put a seat on it for cleaning wheels. Not sure where though.

If you put the seat off of one end and a bit lower than the buckets, you could almost make it look like a MINI when viewed from the side.

Extra wheels under the seat to avoid tipping is recommended.

What are those strange knobs on that TV? Perhaps they are casters?
They would look stunning on the side of the bucket cart though - kind of space-age futurerama-ish.

I couldn't use the old TV stand for the bucket cart, as a few days before I'd turned it into a router table
