Wiper fluid damage

I seem to have an etched spot on my bonnet in the shape of water drops running out from one of my windshield sprayers. It looks like it's etched into the clear coat. I've tried Scratch X, and claying, to no avail. What's the next step I can take, keeping in mind I do all this by hand, as I don't have any power buffers, etc.

Thanks!

p.s. I have replaced that nasty wiper fluid with distilled water!

if it's etched into the clear as you mentioned, i doubt you can "fix" it
other than covering it up with some cool decals or something...
