Starters Prima Package Help !!!!!!

After reading countless threads about detailing. It seems like everyone sticks with Prima Products. I was going to go with Turtle Wax Ice. But everyone says Prima is better. So now that I'm looking at the Detailers Paradise website, I'm trying to figure out what kind of "package" I should get.... A bit confused as to what to pick up since everyone's throwing out different products.

The one that I do know is the Hydro and Epic.

I kinda want to buy everything all together, price doesn't matter, I don't wanna run to targets to buy towels when I can just buy it all in one package. Anyone have any ideas?

Is this package any good?

Add some Hydro to that package and you've got yourself a great entry point.
Add a couple of 5 gal buckets from HD or Lowes and some Dirt Guards from Octane Guy and you have an even better starting point.

If I get that package with Hydro, what is the order that I should use the products in? I'm thinking that I should use the "whole package" once a month, but whats something in that package that I can use at simple maintenance weekly or bi-weekly?

I saw this package too but it's a tad expensive... looks like something I need to get only if my car is going to be in Shows...

Also in terms of pricing are both packages good for their price?

Sorry about that, at first I thought a good package could go for $100, but apparently I'm wrong... ><

Epic is a long-term polymer wax. It lasts 4-6 months. Hydro is a wax-as-you-dry kinda thing...spray it over your wet car and work it in while you dry. But it doesn't last as long. I have a coat of Epic on at all times and boost it with Hydro after washing.

I would say, to answer your original quesiton, I would go to the 2nd bundle. It gives you a few more things you're going to need anyway (Slick and Clarity), and a few more crucial microfibers.

If money is no object though, I'd go for the super bundle. It has pretty much everything you need, except polish. I've never heard anyone who ended up with the super bundle say "I'll never use this stuff". It has it all, without going overboard. Plus there is free shipping right now. In the end, you'll go back for all the stuff that's in it anyway, so you may as well get it at a bundled price and save on the shipping. Wash, dry, wax, clean glass, treat trim, treat interior vinyl...it's all in that bundle.

Just to clarify--and it's probably due to the name of my business..ShowCarDetailing isn't about putting your car into a show. It's the idea that ANYBODY can have a show car if they follow the right techniques.

The package you asked about was put together for a customer who was on a very tight budget and wanted all the "essential" basics without breaking the bank. So products in this bundle were determined based on--if you had $180 to spend--and you were doing everything by hand--and you had nothing purchased yet--what "should" you buy as opposed to what "could" you buy.

Since you're already looking at DP's packages--might as well stick with them--you can't go wrong.

Richard

Your detailing is only going to be as good as your weakest product. What I mean is if you want to keep it swirl free you need the good mitt, towels, wash and grit guard. If you want the shine to be all that it can you need a good wax or sealent and prep it , so you'll need the clay and lube. Of course you'll need something for the trim and the interior. I like the showcar detailing package. It seems to have everything but the Prima bundles are great too.
Take a look at some of the photos where people have posted their product selection and you'll see what buying a bit at a time will do to you. I think you're best to bite the bullet and get it all in the beginning.
This can be an addictive hobby.
This is the bundle I bought and added hydro. http://www.coopersport.com/canada/Ca...p-1-c-267.html

Plus if you buy from Richard you can get the Dirt Guards as well! Much more effective than the old Grit Guards (how last year)!

You're looking at it all wrong. The best deal isn't based on price. If you look at them hard--they are all about the same prices.

The best deal is the one with the products you will need the most based on how much you want to or can spend.

Well I know that there is a couple products that's a must for me. They include: The Mystique, The Hydro, The Epic, The Slick and the Clothes. And Maybe Black Wow.

Everything else is kind of optional because I have access to other things for free, like RainX and such.

Since I'm new to these products, I'm assuming I would use the products in the following order:

Mystique
Epic
The Slick

and then use The Hydro as a weekly touch up?

Slick is a quick detailer that you would use in between car washes. You might use it every day or a few times a week, but not necessarily after Epic--which is how you've listed it.

Yes, you need a car wash soap. Mystique is good because it has polymers that help improve the look of your finish--especially if it's already been polished & waxed.

Epic is a wax, but you shouldn't do it until you've clayed the paint. You will need a lube and good microfiber towels to wipe off the residue.

Think of Hydro as a wax and think of Slick as a cleaner.
Hydro is usually used after you wash your car and the paint is still wet. Spray on Hydro and dry the car - now you have a new layer of wax protection. Though it does not last as long as Epic, it will help keep your Epic in shape and help it last longer.
Slick on the other hand has lubricants and cleaners. Use Slick on a day you don't want to wash, but have light dust or dirt spots (ie bug guts) that you wish to remove. Slick will shine up your car and help you safely keep your car clean until you wash.
So after a good wash and clay job apply Epic. For routine washing use two buckets, a lambs wool mitt and Mystique (super concentrated BTW) and follow it with Hydro and dry using a waffle weave.
Got a bug splat or bird crap? Break out the Slick with a Monster Fluffy and get it off your paint along with the day's dust and dirt. Wheels dusted with your brake droppings? Clean them with Slick and a utility microfiber towel.

I think someone needs to find the "car washing for the non-OC" thread and link it to this thread. It tends to help folks new to detailing. I'd do it but I'm on my iPhone and can't copy/paste.

I have to suggest the "fresh start bundle" that Richard set up for me. It has everything that you need to start up. It is the ideal package in my mind and will get you hooked on keeping your car in tip top visual condition.
