After 24 hours the area of the black trim with the BG on it is still just dull, no white marks.

HEY!!! Lois's BG just came, and her bottle has a label with directions printed right on it. Oh well, I would have been happy if mine showed up in a baggy

Guess that's what happens when you order minutes after the OP.

I was thinking of doing my lawn mower, and some bird feeders

I just got my banana gas

warning: do not open the lid & take a big ole sniff thinking that the name must have come from the smell of the product

OK, I am gonna do a test panel over the winter but my car soap is a polymer based one so I can't use it on that panel. Can anyone recommend a non-polymer carsoap that is decent?

I have a cold, my sniffer is plugged up, but I can smell gas, even if it comes from bananas.

I think I've figured it out... it's not SUPPOSED to smell like bananas.... it smells like YOU after you've eaten a case of bananas, chased with a bottle of TurboLax....

My sample arrived today, and yes, I smelled it....not the bananna scent
I was hoping for. ...But I do love the name!

I will try it out on my poor neglected "barking school bus" (the Tropper)
this weekend.

I had a chance to use Banana Gas today. I washed the entire car and did not apply hydro as per usual. The outside temperature was around 37F.

Initially, I was only going to do the black roof, but I liked the results so much I went ahead and did the entire car. It was applied over 2 previous applications of Epic and at least 3 previous wash and hydro applications which occurred within the last 45 days.

Application was easy as was removal. It also worked well on my racing stripes. Since we are in the throes of winter I will be interested to see how it handles the upcoming weather.

I did get my sample in the post on Friday, nice little bottle.

The plan is to do a bonnet application on Sunday if the sun holds for the day.

I have a 2 week trip to Missouri planned with the MINI, so I will let DP and the group know how it holds up.

Figure I will do a wash with my hard pressure wash soap on the bonnet, apply BG and leave my mystique and hydro combo working on the other 2/3 of the MINI.

If my travel allows, I will do a road wash and dry with hydro. The water is pretty hard on the farm and in the Branson area.

More later.

Woo! I've got Gas!

And actual cold temperatures! And a work schedule where I don't see the sun for days at a time! (Yes, it's true - I'm a vampire private detective.)

The Gas test is going to have to wait a few days until I get a confluence of temps over 40 and a day off, or some free time when there's day light.

It says not to use a polymer based car wash. Is Meguiar's Gold Class okay? Because that's all I've got right now.

I received my sample a few days ago and I finally gave it a try today on a black G35 coupe. The car was washed and didn't need anything as it is well maintained on a weekly basis. The areas tried after prepping with 50/50 water alcohol, were 3 horizontal areas, both upper quarter panels, a portion of the roof and 2 vertical panels. The temp when the product was applied was about 73°F, using a small applicator sponge. It was applied thinly with no pressure in circular motions and left on to dry till it hazed over. Application was very easy and removal was just as easy. Using a zenon light for inspection of all test areas, it appeared to have a very very minor filling ability. In one area where there were some minor surface scratches, I did two applications to see if there would be more filling, but I did not find it made any improvement as the scratches could still be seen. When applied to the roof, half was with Banana Gas and the other half with a liquid canuba wax. The canuba wax was just slightly harder to apply than the test wax which I found to be really insignificant, and removal was about the same.
Thus far I can not say with any certainty that the test sample was any better or worst than the liquid canuba wax.
Tomorrow when I take the vehicle out into the direct sunlight and I will be able to make a visual inspection to determine if there is any improvement over the liquid canuba wax. I will try to apply it in the direct sunlight as well.
