I detailed a navigator yesterday and saw this while I was doing final touch ups and had to take a picture
ooooohhhhhh yeeeeaaahh
Washed with Optimum car wash
Clayed with Pinnacle Ultra Poly Clay
Polished with Poorboys SSR1
Waxed with Poorboys Natty's Blue
Spray waxed with Dura Gloss 951 (responsible for this shine)
That's a great finish on that Vantage! What did you use for it? I really wish I would get some exotics for my details, even nice sports cars. I don't like doing daily driver beaters that have never been waxed since they were purchased . Still good money and I love the owners reactions when they come to pick them up.
Thanks!
The main protection I'm using is Liquid Glass. I bought the car with the stipulation that I will pick it up "as is", no detailing before, I would do it myself. That cut down on my time removing any swirl marks right from the gecko. After letting the paint cure for 6 weeks (no wax whatsoever) I put on two coats of Liquid Glass, letting the 1st coat cure for at least 4 hrs in the sun (as per directions) before applying the 2nd coat. That stuff is great.
I didn't use it on my 1st MC, and got paint chips on the front from rocks. This car has already got two rock hits on the bottom of the hood which definitly dented the metal, but did not chip into the paint,...at all. I love this stuff!! I have almost removed the two dents using a heat gun and the cold from a can of compressed air (spraying it upside down). You have to look really hard to see them now. I even got a bad door ding on my drivers door from parking in Walmart that can out the best. You can't even see it.
I've got tons of cleaning and wax products, and 3 rotary buffers and one orbital. The orbital is great with a microfibre bonnet as a last step. Lately I've been using Turtle Wax Ice liquid wax as touch up between details. Yes, it may not be the longest lasting wax, but I clean my car so often, that that is not a major problem. I like using ICE because it is a perfectly clear wax that leaves no residue in cracks and leaves no hard to remove stains if I happen to get it on other surfaces (black trim) unintentionally. Between waxes, I touch it up with Meguiar's Ultimate Quick Detail Spray to remove dust and dirt spots.
