Need help in Houston
I am one of the mini people who dont have a drive way or a garage to detail my car. I have been going to the pay and spray and doing a light soap, using my lambs mit ( which breaks the pay and spray rule NO HAND WASHING) from top to bottom, light mist soap wash off, and then 30 mins of hand drying. So everyone knows reading this i am not happy with this at all but i dont have many options. First is there a better way for those of us who can not wash our cars in apt complex? Should i go to a local wash/detail place? And if yes does any one know of a good quality (no scratching or swirling ) place in South Houston? Help

Yes, I've been doing this for the past five years on MINI #1 and #2. I've tried to find car washes w/ no "no hand washing" signs posted...suprisingly I've found several. In any case, I use rinse only...the first cycle to wet down the car and fill my bucket (which has shampoo in it). They I use the mitt on bodywork and a mf cloth on wheels. Then a second rinse cycle to rinse car, bucket, grit guard, and the rest. Finally, it's off to dry. Once you get in the rhythm of it it is quite do-able. Seems finding a facility that does not prohibit hand washing might be the tricky part.

I haven't been in Houston in 8 years, and I'm not familar with South Houston. I used to go to the pay and spray at Long Point and Hillcroft in North Houston, and stay there as long as I needed to. I think the trick is to go during the week and go early in the morning. You can always do a wax job under the trees in Memorial Park.
