My brother recently had his car painted and was told about marine wax by the person that painted his car. This paint shop is very reputable around here and they do a lot of older/antique cars as well. The guy said they recently started using Meguiars Marine Flagship wax and recommends it. I could see how boats take a lot of punishment and they are something that would take time to wax. I couldn't understand using a wax that didn't last for a while so is marine wax better? Here is the link to the Marine Flagship wax.

Also, could there be a difference between what is needed for metal parts compared to fiberglass parts? Also it mentions gelcoat. Is that much different from clearcoat?

Sorry for all the questions. I was just wondering since it was a recommendation from a good place.
