I had the cooper in the body shop for a month and when i got it back the jerkoffs got the cloth above my head dirty! Right by the driver's side window. ARG!!

I am real hesitant to clean it until i know for sure what to do. Can i just lightly rub soap and water or what? Any help will be appreciated thank you.

Good question. You certainly can't scrub with pressure 'cos it's too flimsy.

Yeeeeccccchhhh! You probably don't want to know HOW they got it dirty up there.

I'd try some fabric cleaner/spot remover. Look for the kind that removes grease (yechhhhhh) vs. acidic stains. And as they say on the directions for that stuff, "test on an inconspicious area" first. Just in case the spot remover ends up melting the plastic in the headliner fabric.

Good luck!

I have had good luck with "Tuff Stuff" It's good for spots, especialy grease. I also use Griots Garage's "Interior Cleaner" it's the best for just about everything in the car. However, it's not available localy unless you live near Tacoma, WA. So I would go with the "Tuff Stuff".

The perfect stuff to clean the head liner is "M1 Cleaner". You can pick it up at Home Depot. I had a new Mercedes and when I picked it up it had a big spot on the liner. They took me and car back to the shop and the clean up guy wiped it off with M1. It came right off. I have used it to get tar and gum off of the floormats as well. If you want to clean the plastic parts such as the dash and doors etc. try P21S Total Auto Wash. Dilute it in some water and wipe down with a rag, it works great. A good site for car cleaning tips and products is http://www.carcarespecialties.com, quick service and low prices .
