Help...Highway Paint on new MINI

I was driving home last night and there were paint crews stripping the road with yellow paint, they waved me around the fresh paint. It is now on my paint along with the trim. What would you recommend to get this off? It is mainly all specks but quite a bit. Any feedback would help. Thanks

Get some clay bar & quick detailer to use for lubrication of the bar. Work in small sections & watch the paint disappear.

Be very careful. The paint used for stripes on the road contains ground glass (it is what causes the reflection from lights at night).

Oh yeah! You want her! BUT YOU CANNOT HAVE HER!!! NEENER!! NEENER!!
In theory there is no difference between theory and practice, but in practice, there is.

Having gone through this myself. Clay with plenty of lube and go carefully. The trim took much longer but eventually it worked its way out.

Though not the same, yesterday I had to repair a brand new car that got spray painted (graffiti). They sprayed the car from the front fender to the passenger door. Clay did nothing for the paint. Well it worked VERY slowly. We tried a number of things, and sanding it with 2000 grit paper was going to be the next try when one of the painters decided to see if Media Reducer would work. It's essentially a milder form of paint thinner. They put it on a rag, and it came off with a few wipes of the rag. There was some ghosting/etching left behind, which I buffed out with my rotary buffer.

Might check a body shop for advice.

+1 on consulting the body shop.

some paint thinners work on some types or paints but doesn't
affect others... which is a good thing if the paint is different from
the paint used on the car.

for instance, im working on my RC car right now and normal enamel
paint thinner does nothing to remove the paint i use for polycarbonate
paints. the metalizer thinner i use for polycarbonate paint has very little
effect on enamel paints.

so kinda like that.

I had exactly the same problem this spring. When I saw the side of the MINI when I got to work I immediately got some gallons of warm water and flooded/carefully wiped the area for about 45 minutes which got much of the paint and trim cleaned - but not all. Later, at home I used clay on the paint and Goof Off or a similar product on the black trim, but it must be used with care; don't leave it on too long. Even now there's white paint inside the wheel wells. No one seems to notice it, but I can still see it. It is slowly wearing/flaking off, but you can feel the glass beads where it is still holding fast. As others have advised, watch out for the glass beads as you try to remove the sopts from your paint. Good luck!
