First Prima order - couple of questions
I'm starting over with my detailing regiment... out with the Zaino and in with Prima. And some of my Autopia MF are leaving scratches. I'll place my DP order before the end of the summer sale and have a couple questions for the Prima pros
I have an 07 CR/W and the paint is pretty good shape. But I do have a section of dealer installed swirl marks on the bonnet
My order from DP contains (so far):
Paradise Monster Fluffy 3-Pack
Paradise Skinny 5-Pack
Prima Epic
Prima Amigo
Prima Hydro
I'll plan on applying everything by hand. My question is: should I add or change any of my Prima choices? I don't think I want to try and work out the swirl marks myself, so I'm looking for something to just fill them in (and keep me from seeing the dullness under florescents). Thanks!

you'll want to add Slick, Nero, and Clarity bundle.
dont forget to get at least 9-10 platinum MF towels as well.

If you're doing everything by hand then don't get Cut or Swirl. I got Swirl in my first order and tried to do it by hand last week. It is a ridiculous amount of work and just when you think you've got the haze gone, you don't (realized this after I Epic'd!). If you're planning on deswirling, which it looks like you're not, I would bite the bullet and get a PC. Epic is flat out amazing, and Hydro only makes it 2x better. I've never used Slick but I'm thinking about it.

To be honest, I'd probably go with a super bundle and just get it over with. Otherwise you'll keep placing orders for more stuff, paying more shipping and not at the savings you get with a super bundle.
I think most people here can attest to the fact that once you get started, that's what ends up happening. If the bundles had been available when I first started using Prima, man that would have been a lot easier

I couldn't agree more!
Also, Paul, I'll let you try some of my Black Wow too. This will be another must have (in my humble opinion) in your detailing collection.

I take it's better than Back-To-Black (which seems to wash off too quickly)?

Paul,
There's a whole thread on this product. We can discuss this over cocktails on Thursday.

Thanks everyone for the comments! My order now consists of:
Paradise Starter Bundle II
Prima Hydro
Prima Amigo
My last question (sorry if it's a repeat - I searched for a possible answer), can I use Amigo and Epic until some time in the future (perhaps the next MOTD) when a knowledgeable person can look at my dealer installed swirl marks and advise me on the best solution?
Or am I better off skipping Amigo and stick to just using Epic? I don't mind applying Epic every month to hide the lack of luster from the swirls. Other than the swirls on one side of the bonnet the paint is in great shape

Exactly the kind of responses I was hoping to receive. I'll revise my order tonight. Thanks

I'd say that for your paint-specific goals, your list looks good.
Here are some additional considerations:
If you want to use Hydro as a wax-as-you-dry ( as opposed to using on a dry surface), then you might want some Waffle-Weave drying towels. Having said that though, if you want to keep your list to a minimum, you can get by with your Monster Fluffies.
Others have mentioned additional items, all of which are good suggestions too. I think it comes down to your short-term and long-term goals. If you really just want to focus on some basic paint care and you have a fixed budget, then leave your list as-is.
If you think you may get any of the other suggested items ( non paint stuff, additional paint stuff, and/or more microfiber) then it is most economical to go with one of the Paradise Bundles. Not only do 2 of the 3 bundles ship free (the Starter II and the Super), but the savings over buying each of their contents individually is rather significant. I used to try to help people keep their list simple and short if that's what they seemed to be looking for but then so many ended up ordering over and over again and had to pay shipping over and over again! So, to each his own, but keep your short-term and long-term goals in mind.

I'll testify to that....
Heather helped me keep my orders nice and small - all 12 or so of them... sending me to the poorhouse, one DP box at a time... enough times that Heather and Nick got used to saying "hey! we got another order from Paul Penny"... and my wife knows the DHL driver's name and favorite ice cream flavor... though I'm not quite sure how that came up in casual conversation....
(hmmm... better look under my bed for DHL socks...)
Yep - buy the bundles - your marriage may depend upon it... (if you're married)...

Way!
You will need to order Black Wow thru NAM though since DP has yet to stock any.

Amigo will actually help hide your swirls so by all means use the Amigo. Then follow with Epic and maintain with Hydro. Epic will last between 4 and 6 months and with Hydro as a maintenance application your Epic will last even longer.

The most significant advantage of having a PC is for paint correction. Although most people find it's quite handy as a wax application tool, it certainly isn't necessary for waxing. So no worries... you aren't in the stone age just because you wax by hand! When I use P21S wax, I apply it by hand and I rather enjoy it!

well, waxing by hand is one thing...but polishing by hand is a little stone age-ish.
i think it's time you take advantage of the 15%.

I have a PC and I still apply wax by hand. For me, wax goes on so quickly, and the PC really is a workout for me, so it's easier to do it by hand.
