Mystique and Hydro usage

It was a perfect day to do a quick cleanup of my MINI this afternoon. I was going to do a wash and shine last Sunday but I really did not want to sweat in the 100+ Colorado heat.

Today I decided to do an after errands wash since scooter was looking a little buggy from the road trips and he has a bad case of dusty wheel syndrome.

Being a new car with the fast detail/cleanup PDI done by the dealer, I decided a good wash with Mystique and a spritz with Hydro would do for this micro-detail. Of course, scooter has been washed before but not with the Mystique/Hydro combo.

Here are a couple of pictures for your comment and/or enjoyment.

After wash under a cloudy sky, no rain yet!

Closeup of the Hydro at work on scooter. I like the simple shine. I did the hydro after drying with a water spritz and hydro spritz using one of my large MF towels from Detailers Paradise.

I know I added an extra step as per all the other threads, you should hydro as you dry. Do you think I wasted time by doing my spritz and spritz. It was fun, but I don't think I have ocd, yet!

I guess I could have hijacked the two step thread, but I was really wondering what people do on a new MINI.

Thanks...

Wow...Scooter looks great!

As for what I did to mine when I first got it...I Zaino'd it and just last weekend decided to use Hydro for the first time and WOW it was sooo easy to use and the shine was really nice too! I will just Hydro and probably do Zaino about twice a year, but I think Heather has said that if you just want to use Hydro for protection that is also fine as long as you do it about once a month!!! I actually might go that route if I get too busy at work

Scooter looks nice and shiny!
I always use Hydro when the MINI is still wet, but it depends on how hot it is and how fast I can get it done. I don't think it was a wasted step to use the spritz & spritz technique. In fact I just might try it myself and take some of the stress off when excessive speed is dictated by the excessive heat.
Just an FWI, I guess Hydro can also be used when your MINI is dry, just need a lot less and the upside is that it is reported to hide swirls even better when used on a dry MINI.
Again, looks great - enjoy!
