Cleaning Rubber Floormats

What products are recommended for cleaning the rubber S floormats? I made the mistake of using AA. They cleaned up nicely but after doing the splits when getting into the car I decided there is probably a better choice.

Is Nero a good option here? Should I stick to just soap and water? Perhaps BlackWOW?

Thanks for the opinions.

I've used 303 protectant with good success. Not oily like ArmorAll. I think OctaneGuy uses Meguiar's Hyperdressing. Some folks were talking about trying black wow - but I don't know if it's been done yet. My problem with the rubber mats is that when the "black" surface wears off, it leaves "gray" underneath... haven't found anything that turns them back to a consistent black yet.

I used Meguiar's Mirror Glaze 20 Vinyl and Rubber Protectant. Excellent stuff.

Do not use Black Wow or Nero on the floormats. Nero has a caution on it about using it as it might make the matts slippery. Same goes for BW. I have a customer that used it on the Nerf bars on his truck---made the steps nice and black, but ultra slippery--and removing BW isn't a trivial manner right now!

For the rubber matts of the Maserati I worked on over the weekend, Meguiar's Professional Hyperdressing made them black again, and not slippery at all.

So Blimey is absolutely correct.

Just to add and further say how good Hyper Dressing works and is.

On my the last MINI i finished I used soap and water and a nice soft brush to scrub them down nice and clean.

I then topped them off with Hyper Dressing 4:1 x 2 for that ultra shine that the owner wanted and came out perfect.

I have the same issue (gray spots) with the all-weather mats. I will try forever black and try to make it all black again.

Thanks for the replies.

Is the Meg's Hyper-Dressing available anywhere in smaller quantities than a gallon? My mats do not get that dirty. And I feel I would be wasting most of the gallon since I have Nero and BlackWow for the other bits.

Because it's a professional product, it comes in gallon sizes and larger and is diluted with water--so it would probably last a lifetime for you. My one bottle has lasted 3 years for me so far.

I will be making it available in smaller sizes though for NAM members though--it's on my list of things to do--and you will be able to find it at my store at www.showcardetailing.com/eshop

A 32 oz sampler of hyper-dressing is on sale at autodetailingsolutions (ADS)- $9.99. It comes with a sprayer and sponge applicator. That's the size I have and it should last you a long time.

OG, Do you have a time frame when this will be available for ordering? It should be soon since you have this free time now that you hired Jay.

Thanks for asking.

I plan to have it ready by next week. I need to stop by the lab to see what's available--that will happen by Saturday. I was planning on making it available in small and medium sizes. I'm thinking in a small spritzer about 2 to 4 ounces as well as in the 12 to 16 oz range. Or maybe an in between 8 ounce size.

Yeah I hear ya. I *should* have more time--but it's his week of graduation and other stuff going on--so his availability is pretty limited right now.
