strange black scuff marks

Yesterday when I parked my LY/W MC in her cozy garage, I noticed a small black scuff mark on my yellow paint on the front bumper. I've tried to wash it off with mild soap and water and it won't come off. I've done a search on this but can't find anything to help me. It almost looks like a tire mark...but near the park lights? That can't be, can it? Can anyone recommend a product for removing it? It's light, but bothers me to no end.

Try some clay bar. If you need help using clay bar, just ask. Sounds like some kind of transfer. Goo Gone may also help, but I'd try clay first. Be sure to wax the area after you clay it.

Agreed - I had one of these on my old car, it was either paint transfer or who knows what. I used clay and Scratch-X to get it all off, but it was good as new after!

Where can you buy clay at? One of the vendors or from a store such as O'Reilys? It puzzled me as to how the scuff got there in the first place. It really looks like a small tire mark...weird. Thanks for the advice.

most autoparts stores have it, or ofcourse www.detailersparadise.com
pickup some quick detailer too as your lubricant.

i would also try scratch-x with some elbow grease if clay doesn't work.

Could be a shoe mark from someone walking by the car and catching it with their shoe. Or they kicked your car in a jealous rage.

You can pick up Meguiar's clay kit from most auto parts stores. I know O'Reilly and Auto-zone stock it around here.

Clay is available from either of the three NAM vendors that sell detailing supplies.

www.DetailersParadise.com (Prima clay)
www.Coopersport.com (Prima clay)
www.ShowCarDetailing.com (Meguiar's Professional clay--comes in a bar twice as thick and a bit more aggressive than Prima clay but still safe)

ShowCarDetailing aka SCD is me in case you weren't sure.

Just use a cleaner wax or WD-40 and wax the area after you have it off.

scratchx didnt work as well as i hoped
maybe it could be because its on the plastic of the car? Well theres scuff marks and actual nicks
Doubt theres a way to get a nick out of plastic... or is there? I wonder how auto body shops do it when they nick the inside[ plastic] of customers cars... i doubt they removel the whole panel and replace it with a new one..

inside plastic as in the plastic door panel, like you kicked the door
while getting in/out of the car?

if so, Prima Nero.

i thought you were talking about marks on the paint on the exterior.
