I Found Something New To Polish. :)

I saw a thread the other day about someone asking how to clean the insides of their tailpipe extensions. That got me to thinking...

I dug out the Dremel, some polishing bits, Griot's Metal Polish, some polishing cloths, and took about an hour to clean mine.

Without flash.

Looks nice.
Did you use an extension to clean the inside of the muffler? And the cat, get to it from the header down or from the tail pipe up?
Just kidding , they do look shiny!

Great job! Actually the dremel polishing idea struck me as well just a few weeks ago. Not for the tailpipes, but for the rally lights. They get extremely rusty on and around the ball joints, and it is very hard to get fingers in there with the NevRDull that I usually use on them (as well as my JCW pipes). I took the tapered dremel polishing bit that I never before found a use for, dipped it in ScratchX, and sure enough it did a spectacular job of removing the heavy rust! Sadly some spots were still too tight for even that bit, I need to find something even smaller.

On my driving lights (the factory ones in the grill) I use a tooth brush covered with polish to get the threads, nut, and other areas that are hard to access.
