I park my current vehicle at work under trees sometimes in the parking lot, no choice. So I do get tree sap on the painted surface at times. I normally run the car into a carwash to get the sap off. But there are a couple spots where the sap couldn't come off and have dried up and can't be removed without rubbing hard with a damp cloth.
My MCS is soon to arrive, so how can I spare my baby from this nasty goo???
Help!

Meguiars has a great website that covers all aspects of paint maintenance. They will even provide you with a custom care maintenenace program based on the conditions you park your car in, inlcuding tree sap!
Check them out at: http://www.Meguiars.com/
Good luck.

There is a bunch of great products to do this...but remember these are all harsh...and it will remove your wax, including zaino...so you must rewax that area after removing the tree sap.

Goof Off! Comes in an aerosol-type can. Can find at hardware stores. Great stuff. But like it was said above, you will need to re-wax.

Try the Clay bar for sure - it will amaze you that it's so easy to remove without harsh chemicals, especially important considering the MINI paint, IMO.
Good luck!

Try bug and tar remover, but, to reiterate, make sure you reapply wax to the affected area.

Clay bar isn't all that tough on sticky substances. I tried to work off some gum once with clay bar because I was to lazy to move to some compounds, and it took a lot of work. Goof off is a good suggestion, 3M also has a bug/sap remover that is supposedly very good. Again, you'll have to re-wax.
As for windows, clay bar can be used on windows, and I'm sure the goof off can as well. Get a credit card and scrape the sap off the glass with that first, it will save you time and energy.

What to use for bird droppings? I noticed a brownish spot on my clear bra over the hood. Tried a dab of concentrated Zymol carwash and water, but it did not come out. Tried another tiny dab of Softscrub but most of the stain is still there.
Any suggestions? I read somewhere that bird poo is really hard to remove. And I'm finding out.
