[Sat, Dec 9 @ 8pm] Winter of Lights Festival, Gaithersburg MD
This is a drive thru type. I have looked through the internet and this seems to be the biggest one. Festival of Lights
380 Illuminated displays
60 animated vignettes
3 1/2 miles long
Cost is $12/car. I will look into this further.
Perhaps we all meet up @ Dogfish Head @ 6PM and have dinner. DogfishHead Alehouse
From there we go to the light festival and than meet up after everyone goes through. RSVP HERE
For those whom don't want to meet for dinner, DogfishHead Alehouse parking lot is the best place to meet. Meet us @ 7:30PM and look for the MINIs. The parking lot is not very big and should not have a problem finding all of us.
The lights are wonderful! We've made it a family tradition for too many years to count now.
Might I suggest Dogfish Head as an alternative to Glory Days? It's on 117 right at the I-270 exit, so it's very close to the winter lights and provides easy access to those coming up by way of 270? (Plus, they have really, really good beer.)
Dogfish Head sounds good too. Yep they got good beer, what we can do is leave some MINIs either at the parkinglot there, or you all can park over here by our place again (the park is right down the street) and pile in other MINIs since it is $12 a car! That way we don't pay too much!
I will change the meeting place to Dogfish Head. Dogfish Head Alehouse
I'm going to Hampton,Va. for a special assignment and should be done by 4pm. From there, it might take ~3 hrs to get to Gaithersburg (or less, since my car is faster now ). I might not get there in time for dinner, but I will try my best to join the caravan.
I'm not un-RSVP'n as of yet, but depending on what I hear back I may have too. I figure I would give a heads up about this. I'll let you guys know as soon as I find out.

Kandice and I would like to join the club for dinner at the Dog Head but as flatlanders from VA have no idea where it is located. Can you please send directions.
Thanks,
Mike and Kandice (Griff)

I'm in for two adults and two kids for dinner and the lights. Depending on how many kids are there, we can go for a separate table.
The Dogfish is great. The beer is top notch, and the food is reasonable and tasty. We're there almost once a week. If anyone is on the fence, I can heartily recommend it.

We met some of you at the Baltimore Thanksgiving parade..
We'll be out at the lights, but not the restaurant..
then we have a choral concert to run off to in Mariotsville!
Gianna since the parade now has MiniSwag Eyes and R53 badge (well, the holder..still waiting for Tod's mail)..oh and the MINI rubber mats!
Saving my money for spending on others for Christmas.. then whatever I don't get as gifts for Gianna, I can start modding with!!
EDIT: mdsbrain: So that was the surprise? Congrats to you! Its nice looking, but I have to agree with Our 50 "To me, most non-Minis all look like Honda Civics. Those cars just don't stand out in a crowd" Hopefully no more headaches and expensive bills.. See you tomorrow..
