In a previous thread, several of us who work/live in downtown D.C. mentioned getting together for lunch or something... Just thought I'd post a query. Anyone interested?
I'm also in NW. sounds like we'll need to decide on a place and a time. If we find a place we like well enough that it could become our "regular spot", that'd be cool too. Any suggestions?
In Georgetown. 28th and M. Lunch can be tricky for me, but I might be able to swing it.
Suggestions - Papa Razi at G'twon Park Mall.
Pizza Paradiso near Dean and Deluca (33rd and M? not sure)
There is a good Vietamese place with a cheap lunch buffet just down the street. Saigon Inn.
I love doing take out from Moby **** House of Kebob and sitting by the C&O Canal to eat outside.

Well, those of us downtown obviously want to keep our lunch spot within walking or quick metro ride distance. Anyone who is willing to come in from outside the district is welcome. Most of us probably only have about an hour for lunch though.

Sounds good. Places that are close for me are:
The Eats on 13th & F
Ollies Trolley
Subway
Capital City Brewery

Near MCI center there's Clyde's, RFD, and Hooters.
There's also an awesome spot next to the white house called the Old Ebbit Grill (http://ebbitt.com), as well as ESPN zone and of course the Hard Rock Cafe.
I'm game for anything. I don't usually do anything special for lunch. Just something cheap and quick thats within a block of Vermont Ave and Eye street.

Yep, I know of those too, Old Ebbit is good. VERY busy during the lunch rush, but then what place isn't?
We should start getting to some sort of consensus I think.
Not sure. It is not a pho based restaurant like Pho 75 or some of the others. But they probably do. I can't remember the menu off hand. It's been about six months since I've been in.

Old Ebbitt is fine if you arrive just before noon. If you get there after 12:15, you're in bad shape.
Great food, good prices (considering the quality & area).
$6 for a huge burger n fries, $7 for regular sandwiches, $8-18 for entrees ranging from all different sorts of fish and pasta dishes, to steak salads and fresh jumbo lump crab cake platters.
Old Ebbit is nice, I agree with WagnBat. That's on the corner of 15th & G NW right across the street from the Treasury building. The closest Metro station is Metro Center and I think McPherson Square is also about the same distance.
Okay, so we have decided on Old Ebbit. Do we have a date and time? What about on a Friday - to kick off the weekend.
