I think it would depend on what year your MINI is. I know that i've had to wait for parts because the dealership didn't stock parts for my year anymore. (2003) In some cases, the parts weren't even available from MINI USA.
2003 is not that old. Why wouldn't the dealer and MINI USA not stock the parts? Insuring prompt parts & service is a time-proven way to:
Increase sales volume from parts
Increase customer satisfaction
Create repeat customers,
Foster word-of-mouth advertising - the best type advertising that money can't buy.
The "Rule of 100" states that if a customer is unhappy with a product &/or service that customer will tell about 100 people - about the number one might expect at a wedding or a funeral. However, in today's internet world, one unhappy customer can influence many times that number of potential new customers for that product &/or service.
Don't really know; one item was the JCW exhaust that wasn't in stock at the dealer. As for the MINI USA part; it was a template for the driving lights to help with the installation. Turns out i didn't need it anyway, because i got help from some very kind members on NAM!
So are MINI owners in the Balt./DC area able to acquire in a timely manor the parts necessary to keep their car on the road no matter how old their MINI may be?
