Cheers !

Derek

The last one was a drive from Monterey, CA to Lime Rock, CT. It came right through here, so we really didn't have to drive far to get there!
I think this year it is all different anyway, not really a drive across the states, just localized stuff.
Having done one, I am satisfied with that, and won't be attending this year's event...too far away for me..and I am spending all my money at MOTD!

I don't know if it will be worth it or not, since I didn't have a MINI when they did the last one, but I'm thinking of going to Chicago too. My parents live just outside the city, so it would be a nice excuse to visit.

I have friends that live in Bolingbrook.... so I'm going to see if I can stay with them.

Unfortunately I didn't make it out to the stuff back East, but if the Monterey events were an indication of what can be expected this year then the events being put together for MTTS2 will probably be pretty impressive...

From what I've seen and heard publicly MTTS is intended to be MINIUSA's answer to MINI United. So folks who attend the MTTS events probably won't be disappointed....

Either way, this year promises to be another big year for MINI events in the US between AMVIV, MINIs on The Dragon, MINIs on Top, MINIs in The Montains and MTTS, the big US event calendar is pretty full :D

Is Chicago the closest event MTTSII location? Are there going to be any events further east?

I think the East coast location is going to be Boston, but that's not exactly close either.

I talked to my parents and they have offered to host a DCMM BBQ for any of us who attend MTTS in Chicago. They live about an hour outside of Chicago, near the Indiana Dunes. Not knowing the specifics of the MTTS stuff yet makes it difficult to plan, but we'll worry about that when we have more details.

I might take the Auto Train to Fl and go to the one in Miami if it sounds like a big deal. I've used the Auto Train many times over the years. I don't know how they secure though, with chains to chassis / suspension or straps around wheels. Considering things I've heard about MINIs getting hurt even on a flat bed I'd need to check that out.

I've taken a Mercury Lynx SHO, two Saabs, a conversion van, and a 73 Vette via Auto Train with no issues to date.

It'd be tough to beat the day at Lime Rock last time around for me.
