I looked at the 2010 options for Canada - and NFR is no longer available on the Coop - only the Clubman! It's the end of the line for the Coop NFR's - so Ray might have the last one? CJ - you'll have to make a special "last one" badge for Ray.
You guys don't know how close I came to waiting a week or two to order Twiggy - thinking it would be smart to get a 2010. Wow! If I'd done that, I'd been crying the blues right now - and probably having to settle for a Horizon Blue MINI. Actually, I probably would have ordered the Clubman to get the NFR.
We are one lucky bunch to have such a beautiful color!
Sorry for the delay in replying.... I haven't been much around lately (vacation in Corsica while Ray was having Twiggy delivered - and last weekend we were on a MINI club meeting in the Jura mountains between France and Switzerland..... lots of small roads and lots of turns )
Ray, I'm really happy to see you have received the car of your dreams. Enjoy every moment of her ! And now you are a full-fledged member of the NFR user group here.

Thanks for thinking of her !
By the way, NFR has indeed become now a collector's colour - at least as far as the hatch model is concerned. NFR is no longer available in Europe either - only for Clubbys and cabrios.
Last week Twiggy went to see the Pacific Ocean - yesterday she got to see Mt. St. Helens. I had to leave her in the parking lot at the Ape Canyon trailhead - as small as she is, the trail was just too narrow.
Ok..new question, considering NFR will no longer be available on the Coops. What are you intentions in the longer run with your car? Are you considering a trade-in of a different color. Do you plan to run your baby into the next century? Or are you just in limbo?
As for me, I seriously thought about getting a MINI Mayfair - they are very gorgeous cars in my opinion. But then I thought; should I get a little more in debt, buy a brand new car, even tho I'm very happy with Bubbles? I've decided to go with "why-mess-with-a-good-thing" and keep Bubbles - even tho he has a lot of miles on him already.
Interesting - what is everyone else thinking about their NFRs?

Considering Malcolm is my second MINI and I am still in the honeymoon stage, I don't see trading him in just because the color is no longer available. Just like limited edition heirlooms, years from now people will be remarking "oh you got one of those NFRs while they were out!". Yes, Yes I did!! Its a keeper for me.

Right now, it's too early for me to tell. Betty Boop isn't even one year "old" yet... and like carjoy I'm still in the "honeymoon stage". I'd be tempted to keep her as long as possible, but I don't know if I will still be needing a diesel engine in three years from now. But what I already know is that I will be keeping a MINI. MINI for ever
Gee, I don't know. I have almost 2,000 miles on Twiggy now and maybe it is time to trade her in for somthin' new. Perhaps I can find a color that people don't notice quite so much.
Sure, right! Maybe I've had one too Slurpee?
I think I'll wait another week or two before deciding if I've grown tired of Nightfire Red.
My thoughts are definitely with Betty's.....I don't see me owning anything other than MINIs for the rest of my driving career. My NFR is over 2 years old and I have almost 50,000 kms on him already (30,000 miles) - that would put me up the scale a fair bit more than the rest of you.
I'd love to hear from some of the first members too - Skuzzy, Roo, anyone else who got their cars when the color first came out. (I'm feeling rather old now!).
So...Bubbles and I are going to keep on truckin...or MINI-in....I wonder what MINI has the most mileage, and how much are they up to? Hmmmm.....

I just ran across this MINI television commercial - you may have seen it, but I was blown away by the car they used to celebrate the 50th anniversary... enjoy it since there will be no more - I got the last one!
Hey guys, if you want to see how a MINI meeting of our club looks like, here's a video that was made by one of our members (he's a professional TV cameraman )
It was really fun, we had people from all over the place (France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland)

Great video - and even tho some folks might not agree that I'm impartial, I think Betty Boop was the best looking MINI in the group.
I like the new license plate. Does Switzerland allow personalized 'vanity' plates? If so, you ought to get a BETTY BOOP plate!
Nope, Switzerland does not allow personalized license plates. But our license plates are the most beautiful in Europe ! The rear plate bears the country's and the canton's shields and the number's between them, like this (for the canton of Zurich).

Great shot of you too (at 9:40 into the clip).
Thanks ! ;)
And I think Betty Boop is the cutest, too
I'm watching tv last night and a used car lot commercial comes on. They're talking about how this company checks so many different checks they do to ensure you know what kind of car you're buying.
At then end of the commercial, the girl browsing for cars ends up standing beside a NFR MINI with a white roof. NFRs are famous now!
