Was out doing a bit of shopping yesterday and decided to stop at Walmart in
Barboursville. Had been having one of those days, Getting aggravated hunting
for parking spaces, dodging drivers not paying attention or just driving too slow
to suit me <g>, all in all somewhat a stressful afternoons driving.
While driving in front of the Walmart trying to avoid pedestrians, while hoping
in vain for a decent parking spot, had a lady rapidly approach my car on the
drivers side... rapping forcefully on my side window !
Ignoring the instinct to reach for my .45, I quickly tried to remember, how the heck
do I roll my window down? (Uh, I'd been without my car for a month...<g>)
Once my mind kicked in, I got the window down so I could see what was the problem.
Turns out it's a problem we've all probably experienced.
A case of MINI envy <g>.
Turns out her husband has been considering buying one for the past couple of years.
They basically wanted to know what I thought of it, where I bought mine, etc;.
I gave them a quick minute and a half run down, then wished them a good day and
proceded to park.
Needless to say, I ran into them again once I got in the store to do some shopping.
I probably spent 20 minutes in the entryway of Walmart preaching the gospel of
the MINI Cooper <g>. Told them all about the cars and NAM, and recommended
that they give Jay a call in Cincy. They were good people, and I expect we'll be
seeing them here on the board soon talking about there pending order <g>.
This incident was neat and different mainly due to how it came down. It helped
rekindle my appreciation for my car... allowing me to see it somewhat thru another's
eyes.
It's good to have a MINI again....

Had just completed my collection at Postalnet and was headed back out of
the parking lot when I saw a Blue Mini heading towards the pizza place in
the plaza. Immediately made a UTurn to go see if it was someone new.
Your wife had already gotten into the car and was preparing to back out,
and being the dedicated MINI owner I am (Read that as "Stalking MINI driver" <g>).
I promptly blocked her somewhat with my postal vehicle and waived at
her until she rolled down the window so I could say hello <g>.
It was good to finally see your MINI , if only briefly <g>. Apologize to your
wife for me if she thought I was a tad psychotic....
