WV MINI Sightings

Hey guys,
Just starting this, so we can document MINIs we've spotted in the area. Maybe they'll join us and they can check themselves off the list!

GREAT IDEA!!!

I spotted a pepper white on Sunday at the tire place at the Huntington mall...but it had Ohio plates....

There was a yellow one in the parking lot for the grocery store and tanning place on 6th Ave and 1st Street in Huntington on Monday.....

And a week ago yesterday I saw a blue one with a white top between around 6:30am between the Scott Depot exit and the St. Albans exit, heading east on I64.....

Any takers?

None of those ring a bell...

I've spotted a couple new ones this past weekend.
A Pepper white near Robinitis's neck of the woods in Hurricane.
A Yellow parked in a driveway in Scott Depot. (Will tag it shortly <g>)
Wife has told me about an Orange Cabrio near her work in Teays Valley.

And while out changing my car insurance...

Noticed a Lightning Blue/Black MINI parked behind a small strip mall in
Teays Valley. So, being the outgoing person I am... started going door
to door... Excuse me, does someone here own the MINI Cooper parked
out back?

Got lucky at the 3rd business <g>. Affinity Hair Salon. I'm afraid I may
have came across as a MINI Stalker... but left her info concerning the
club anyways.

(My apologies if your the owner of said MINI and have found your way
to the board... I really do not mean to come across as manic about
my preferred brand of cars, its just like the late Warren Zevon said....)

I'm an excitable boy <g>.....

I saw 2 black minis yesterday at the Hurricane high school parking lot- One with white stripes and the other was solid black (staring into the sun, colors may be slightly off) . I would say they are teachers at another school since we were hosting a retirement meeting. I unfortunately was selling baseball tickets so could not track down the owner, and they were gone before I left.

I passed a chili red mini on hal greer blvd last night around 9pm. I was coming from class and they were heading towards campus. Didnt get a good look at it. All I was able to make out was that it was red and had xenon headlamps. appeared to be the 02-04 variety.

I've seen a Chili Red one around Huntington too. It has a "Mind the Gap" London subway badge on the back that I love!!

I saw a blue (Hyper Blue or Lightning Blue, I think) Mini tonight, first on I64 traveling east around the mall exits...and then I saw it again a little while later at the mall (I was at Panera Bread and it was leaving, getting back on I64, I think).

May have been me <g>

I drove down to the Target just past the mall at around 5:30 or so,
shopped a bit, and then ended up down near the mall.

(Wasn't near Panera though... had drove up to Chik-fil-a, probably around
6:30 or 7:00)

Maybe I saw 2 Blue Minis - we couldn't catch up to the one we saw on I64 (it was around 6:30 probably so that was probably you!) due to the traffic. We weren't in my Mini - we were in my boyfriend's red Audi RS4 and were about four cars behind you. I think the one I saw got on the interstate at the Target exit so that would make sense.

The next time I saw it....or a second one of about the same color....was not too much later, driving on Ring Road (the road that goes around the mall - it's amazing the dumb things you learn when you do car wreck cases for four years), heading back out to I64 at that crazy intersection near Olive Garden/Chili's/Panera, etc.

One of them might be the one I was writing notes to at Walmart
I think a lot of people saw me today - my door swung open on a turn and I had to straighten out quickly to get it to slam closed for me.. oops

I DON'T SEE ANYTHING UP HERE!!!!! And besides that--- What is: "a mall, a panera bread, a target, campus, other cars (let alone other minis)...

Man, there are days I really miss civilization

I'm so jealous you all get to see other minis in their natural habitat.

You need to set out "bait"...

Leave a quart or two of synthetic just past a blind curve near you....
maybe set up some pylons in the parking lot early some Sunday morning,
(To lure in the elusive "autox" MINI)

There are various ways to get them up in your area...
Heck, you could even plan a MINI weekend at Snowshoe sometime...
maybe lure in a whole pack of them critters <g> from up DC way.
(Are they Migratory????)

bcski: If it helps, I think my Mini is going to be up that way at least once, maybe twice, this summer. Right now, I'm planning on being there the third weekend in May but I'm not sure I'll have my Mini. And I'm planning on being there the last weekend in July and I'm pretty sure I'll have my Mini then. Otherwise, I'm all for planning a weekend of Mini fun at Snowshoe! And maybe we can bring pictures of these crazy mall, campus, panera bread, target things....

Around 7pm-7:30pm this evening, we passed a British Racing Green convertible with black bonnet stripes going west of I64 between the 29th Street exit and the Barboursville exit near Huntington. Any takers?

Hey I'm a friend of GonePostalWV. I spotted my own Mini (2008 MCS pepper white/black) so Ithought I'd add it to the list. I live in the Charleston area (South Hills) and work downtown. If you see me, be sure to give me a flash (headlights please...or maybe not!) and I'll do the same. Glad to be onboard!

Found PW near Robinitis yesterday at Walmart

Stopped by Walmart last night after work and parked next to a PW Cooper.
Was leaving a note when the owner came out to her car. Turns out I tried
to chase down this one a couple weeks ago near Robinitis's house in Hurricane <g>.

She said she had been waived at by Robin earlier in the day <g>...
I let her know about NAM.. and hope she or her husband will stop by this
weekend.
