Omaha World Herald article

My brother emailed the story about C.O.R.N. from todays Omaha World (Weird) Herald.

http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_pag...&u_sid=2332208

My wife and I are originally from Omaha but lived in North Carolina for a year then England for 4 years before returning to Omaha in 1991 only to move here to Chicago in 1999.

Congrats on finally getting a MINI dealership in the Big "O". Where/how can I sign up for C.O.R.N.?

Thanks for the link to the article. I just called my sister-in-law to get her to grab me a copy of today's paper.

Agro this is just what we needed to get the T's going. Look forward to a preorder list shortly.
P.S. those of you who have placed your names on the forum today will be added this eve. I am at work right now and just need a moment to sit down and put them in. Welcome to CORN. Who would have thought the response would be so great. Thanks to Stacie for writing the article.

Well, we will be gathering at the dealership on the 3rd of March if all goes well and they are ready to open the doors to a large public gathering at that time. Just keep watching here and you won't miss it.

I was excited to see the article in the World Herald yesterday and would love to join CORN. Please put me down for a t-shirt too (size L).

This is the first time I've replied to anything. Sure hope I'm doing this correctly.

We'd like to join too...

My wife drives a 2006 DS/S MCS, but hasn't joined NAM yet. I drive a 2002 Audi TT (occasionally) which we took on the Dragon in June of 2005, at the annual TT-East GTG. But, I'm equally enthusiastic about our MCS!

We enjoyed your recent article in the Omaha World Herald. I love that Camper! So cool! I'm trying to find a way for us to make it to MOTD, but so far we have a conflict, and will probably have to wait til next year.

We're in Omaha but make the trip to Kearney, NE occasionally to visit her folks, so I guess you can say we have strong rural connections!

We'll try to stop by for the party when the new dealership opens in Omaha at Markel...it'll be fun to meet some other local MINI owners.

Please sign me up!!

I read the article in Friday's World Herald and that was the first I knew about your awesome group! What an awesome idea--thanks for starting it!!!

I live in Grand Island and LOVE my silver 2002 MINI. I got it in 2003 through autotrader.com and felt very alone in Central Nebraska for quite a while!

I'd also like to buy a few t-shirts for my family since they're MINI lovers, too, and so please let me know when they're available!!

I was so excited when I saw the article in the paper about CORN. I have had my blue mini convertible for a year, and love it. Add me to the group, and if I could get a 3x tshirt I would be very interested!

Came back to post where I live, but then realized my username probably gives it away

CORN is "Popping"

It is great to see all this interest. I am going to have to find a way to get in the newspaper more often.

swiftaw I assumed you wanted to be signed up so there you are.

Monty12 You are in as well. Shirts will be just a bit. You did just fine. I got the message. However, I do need a City. For now I will assume Omaha.

blueprintt You are welcome to join CORN. I am planning on bringing the camper to the dealer on the 3rd.

EMMDM Yes!!!! (You have to forgive me I get excited when it is a RURAL member)

rxpetes Added you as well. Would you happen to be a Pharmacist? Due to the Rx. There is a pharmacy in Kearney that uses an S as a office car.

omahamom you are added as well. Be ready to go to the dealership on the 3rd.

In addition, I was tempted yesterday. I took a test ride in a new 07 S in Denver. I shared a vehicle with Brian Black from Denver. I say tempted because the 07 Cooper is excellent. The only thing holding me back is the lack of a hitch for the camper and my commitment to my 05. Maybe when I can afford two or three MINI/mini

Hey Jim!! First, great article! By the way this thread has been jumping lately, I'd say your field of CORN is growing quite a bit Any chance the CORN logo will end up as a grille badge sticker???

Keep up the good work. Not too long till MOTD

Thanks for the complements. CORN has grown as a result so I am happy.
As far as the 07 goes I think it is amazing. First impressions, seat of the pants feel is incredible. Just a bit bigger all around. The low end torque in sport mode is unreal. First and second gear pull hard. The ride is a bit more refined in that the bumps in the road are not as severe even with runflats.
Overall as I said earlier. Hold backs are my commitment to my 05 that I will probably never get rid of and not having a hitch option yet. I may have to look at the Clubman when available. But then I have had my eye on a classic for a while as well.
If I was "Miniless" I would get an 07. Like the 02 it is new now and it will just take a little getting used to.
