Hey, I live in Bellevue, and would be VERY interested in joining this club. ust bought my first MINI a couple months back. Metallic Blue S Works named Tina. Any way I could get in on the CORN action?
Does your car have an Offutt sticker on it? If so, I think I saw the car at Christmas. My sis-in-law lives on Arrowhead in Bellevue.

Would I get better milage if I had less fun?
Welcome to the field.
I will be taking a CORN field trip by myself today. Just going to visit the new dealership in Omaha. Take some pictures to show everyone the progress made on the new building. Hope I can pin them down on some hard dates for the grand opening.
Souz, I will be scouting the back roads on my way. Let you know how it goes.
and when there is someone there to talk to, can you investigate the possibility of our little GTG on Saturday night, April 28th, right before closing time? With our merry little band of Dragoneers? We really don't need anything, just that we would like to see the place and go there amongst friends.
Of course, if they want to cater a nice dinner and have a live band and a carnival for us, that is fine too.
Anyway, it WILL take us a freakin day to get there from Denver but a warm reception would be nice. Maybe just before closing time...
I recently went to Markel, the soon to be Mini dealership and test drove a 2004 Mini Cooper S, while there I asked when they'd be opening the dealership. The salesman said they moved the opening forward and that it should be open mid-Feb. instead of April. Even if the building isn't done they plan to have 20 Mini Coopers on the lot, but they will only be 2006s from other dealer allocations.
Hi, Just heard about your club. I am interested in joining and would like more info about the club and the possible trip to North Carolina. I live in Aurora, Ne. and have had my mini for 3 years. Love it. Thanks for any info you can send.
Yea!!!!! more Rural CORN. Welcome RLcjtT. I will add you to the list at the beginning of the thread. Good to see that there are some more Coopers out to the West of Lincoln. Get ready for more due to the new dealership in Omaha. Looks like they take the keys to thier building on the 15th of February. We may plan a drive to the dealership on the following Saturday the 17th. I will be sure to PM or email you about the festivities. Also, if you are planning on going with us to NC please let me know. I may be able to help you find some lodging. Sorry, the Dragon Wagon don't have a basement.
Jsouz, sorry I have been away for a while here. I did get to the dealership on Saturday last week. They are well on their way to being finished. I was able to talk to one of the sales staff. They are very excited about the new dealership. When I go there for the opening I will try to get some better intel on what we can expect from them on the way to the Dragon.
The latest information on the new dealership. Spoke with Jeremy at Markel BMW (he will be moving to the MINI side) He stated that we could expect an opening celebration of some kind as early as the 24th of FEB. I will keep you updated here.
Eric,
Welcome. I will add you. Hope to see you at the dealership on the 24th if that turns out to be the weekend we do a gathering there.
Agro,
Yep, I have a spread sheet with the current requests for shirts by size. Turns out there are only 18 total from this page. I know that there will be more once spring comes. And when there is more member interest after the dealer opens. My intent is to have them available before our trip to the Dragon in April. Sorry, no AMVIV again this year. Not enough vacation time for all the things I want to do this year.
take us to get from Denver to Minden (I presume via 34) and then, to Omaha on April 28th? Keep in mind that our group cannot make tracks like you would alone....just wondering.

JPS
My mapping program says 12 hours from Denver to Omaha on backroads.
(I think that includes the time change)
It would probably take that long with the convoy and stops. So maybe we need to re-think this. Break the rules and take the Interstates the first day (make some time) and make the full trip in 8 hours. Plus time to stop and eat. Leaves you departing Denver around 7:00AM Giving us some time at Markel to meet and greet. I am sure the Omaha MINI's would hang around to meet on a Saturday night.
Still Luke and Jakes is not far off the Interstate. So we can still go there. Or Skeeter Barns right off I-80.
that will help us all. Frankly, we could take the Interstate to Luke and Jake's - then mosey on down the backroads from there, arriving on time for dinner at the dealer.
Jim, keep an eye on the logistics. We will take your lead for this leg.
And I have still not solidified on the route from Omaha to StL. Originally, I wanted to stay in IA, to Iowa City, then south coming in West of StL. That however, totally bypasses KC and our friends there.
Mike,
You are on the list. Great to have another PS/BK in the group!
Any chance you will be meeting us at the dealership when it opens. Possibly the 24th of Feb?
Hi - I just saw the article in the Omaha World-Herald (I live in Lincoln) and thought I'd check in. My Nebraska license plate is "Mini Me". I picked up my 2003 British Racing Green Cooper S on Nov. 29, 2002 and have had such a great time with it ever since. (You meet such nice people in parking lots who just want to come over and take a look.) I'm excited about the new dealership opening in a few weeks and am ready to order my new convertible! I just need to decide if I want a new color - I love the green. Happy motoring everybody!
