Autumn Motoring

How about motoring along the Platte River valley so we can enjoy the colors of autumn and end up with a glass of wine overlooking the Loup River valley at Miletta Vista Winery, St Paul NE?

If you're interested in motoring along with us, join us in Valley NE at the Dairy Queen at 1PM, October 16th, which is a Sunday. Should be around two and a half hours motoring out to the winery. We'll take some back highways as we go west so we can cross the Platte River four times.

The winery is our Nebraska favorite. Spectacular view!

My wife and I should be able to make it also. Anyone else care to meet up somewhere in Omaha to go drive out to Valley together? We would have to leave Omaha a little after Noon.

Meet somewhere by Village Pointe at noon? Is there a coffee shop around there?

Since Village Pointe is pretty congested and I also don't know what's around there, I used Google Maps and at 156th and Dodge, is the Pepperwood Village-Bakers (North side of Dodge). It looks like right at the entrance to the shopping area, there is a Bank (Google shows it as a Great Western Bank if it's the same thing now). It looks like it has a decent size parking that we could basically park next to the Pepperwood Village sign.

At least that's a first thought. Open to any other suggestions.

That works too. There's a Starbucks nearby and Le Peeps. I may see if my better half would be interested in brunch there.

So I was looking at old photos on my PC...and ran into these. It was fun meeting new MINI owners! http://www.ittybittyurl.com/Tyb

Later that fall the winery burned down. It is being rebuilt, and should be open this summer.
