Hello all,
I would like to join CORN. Currently I am living in Germany (Stationed at Ramstein AB) but will be moving to the Omaha area (working at Offutt AFB) in Jul/Aug time frame this year.
We will be bringing my wife's 08' MCS with us. More on that in a new post. I am originally from Maine and this will be only my second assignment in the states in 19 of service, and my first time living in the Midwest.
I tried to post a reply in the welcome to CORN thread but I am having troubles posting replies.
I described how we came about getting a Mini for my wife here:
Congrats early in case you still can't reply to a thread. When you get the MINI feel free to add another post here on the C.O.R.N. forum.
Consider yourself welcomed to Omaha and the area.
It looks like the first event you may be able to attend with us is MINI's in the Mountains in Colorado. Hope you can get a couple days off so close to your PCS date. If not maybe we will have to plan some sort of welcome to Nebraska drive just for the two of you and your new MINI.
Because you could not post to the Welcome forum I will add you on the list.
Again welcome to the MINI madness.
The Tech Support guys have finally fixed the issue with rights and posting replies. I am in business now. Thanks for the welcomes all.
I am not sure when we will be arriving exactly right now, or which vehicle we will have there first. BMW is shipping the Mini, and the Gov is shipping the BMW X3. Both will have to be driven from Maryland to Nebraska. We also have to look for a home to buy.
Lucky NE law is kind to military out of state residence, and I will not have to pay state sales taxes on both when I transfer the German/US Military plates to NE plates.
The wife and I are really excited to be coming to NE, I am sure I will have questions about the state/Omaha area maybe the other CORN members can help answering them.
