I was thinking of talking to MINI of Omaha about sponsoring a car and bike get together at a Sonic or something. I was thinking of calling it British Nights (British Knights) and having it on a Tuesday night or something. I was thinking that the dealership could sponsor the first night in some way by providing a free round of ice cream or something and then after that we could meet there every Tuesday after that and make it a ritual. I mean by calling it British Nights all British made vehicles are welcome including MINI's, Triumph cars or motorcycles, Jaguars, MG's, and other sorts. Let me know if this would be of interest, just to remind people it would be in Omaha somewhere. Thanks.
I don't know, is there any place in particular that you guys would favor. I was going to say Quaker Steak and Lube but it's kind of far plus it seems more geared towards Nascar and Muscle Cars not the chic British crowd.
My first thought was the Alpine Inn, but again, a little too far, and the raccoons may scratch up our cars.
There is a fairly well established car show held every wednesday night in the parking lot behind Flashbacks and Hectors off of 84th and Center. That may be a good place to get the group started, and display our cars to a greater group of people. The show is not formal in any way - pretty much just park your car and maybe put the hood up.
We could also start by rotating to Sonics or other drive-in type places around the metro.
Or #3 see if we can reserve one of the smaller parking lots in the Old Market for a small amount of money on a Saturday morning or off weeknight, and meet there. Anybody in the club live down there?
