I'm sure a lot of you saw the recent ad for the Omaha Auto Show showing that there will be a new MINI Clubman there for all to see. When I was at MINI of Omaha yesterday - they confirmed that the Clubman will be in town and at the dealership for us to check out on Tuesday the 22nd. (not sure of what time, but a quick call before you head over would be smart.)
Although they didn't have all of the details, I was told that it is supposed to be a Clubman S in Chili Red. (not sure of the roof color)
I'm curious to check it out, and I'm sure it will get plenty of attention at the show as well.
Thats pretty exciting. I heard they were not going to release any of them to anyone until mid February according to the MINI Center here. We will definitely be watching for pics.

Our dealer is having an intro party for KC MINI Club memebers on March 8th, same weekend as our local Auto Show. Wonder if it's the same car just being sent around the country?

Went to the autoshow today to check out the Clubman, and I have to say it is so much better looking in person. Although I've never been fond of red cars - the Clubman looked great. Click on the photo below to see the rest of the shots in my Flickr:
I agree with the aforementioned about seeing the Clubman in person. Going in, I had absolutely no feeling one way or the other by the appearance of the car at the show, as I haven't been the biggest fan of the R56 cosmetic changes (sorry, it's not bad at all, I just have issues with some things here and there). But I tell you what, seeing that red and black car made me a convert to the Clubman anyway. Even with my automotive ADD, and lack of strong brand loyalty, this is the only vehicle in the show that made me passionate about what I was seeing and it just happened to be a Mini. I'll have to see it in person with the hood down (the new front end being my biggest gripe), but from all other views it was a heckuva nice looking car. Oh, people were swarming around it and probably second only to the Smart TwoFour in attracting crowds.
Agreed that the Smart was getting more attention. However, have you ever seen a train wreck? You just can't look away.
I really like the long driverside rear window. In fact, remove the club door on the passenger side and I like it even more.
It seemed to me that a lot of smaller cars were getting a bit more attention than usual. The Hummer section (at least when I was there) wasn't getting much foot traffic at all.
Actually I noticed the Hummer's getting plenty of lookers, but I did notice everyone that sat in the MINI's got out smiling - not so of those getting out of the Hummer. (after looking at the price tag/gas mileage)
the clubman and the SMART car had tons of people in and out of them. I had to correct a few people on some misconceptions of smaller cars. It was a nice show.

Yea, we had about 5 of us there 'selling' the MINI to about everyone that was looking at it. About the ONLY person that I believe wasn't really happy with it was a guy that was almost 7' tall. His knees were pretty much up around the steering wheel. (Jim got a picture of him inside and outside of the Clubman).
