I own a MCS and insurance isnt that bad. I am 23 and i pay $134 a month through state farm. Hopefully once i hit 25 my insurance will drop below 100.

Some earlier software versions had cold start issues in the software, its been fixed for some time now, however the threads pop up once in a while for those who haven't gotten the update yet. If you buy an 06 now or bring it in for warranty service the software will be updated and the issue resovled.

It's all relative to location, age, driving record, etc.

When I asked my insurance company the difference between an MC and MCS, they said it could be between $10 and $30 a month. Not much but it adds up.

One of the good things about being older is cheaper insurance. I just fear the day my kids turn 16.

No lie - being old and married does have its advantages. I'm 36, and my premium for a 2006 MCS convertible is $72.69 per month, with 100k/300k/100k limits, a $100 comprehensive deductible and a $250 collision deductible.

Hood swap

So did this work out well for you? I've been wanting to do the same but haven't gotten around to it.

This. I now pay 350€/year to insure it (and still have the car in my father`s name, legal here.... otherwise 700€), a S would be double that, at least.

My understanding is that it will work, some one here on the forums has done it. In my opinion, there is no functional use for the hole in the bonnet unless you fabricate an air duct to the air intake. It would cool the motor a bit and add drag.
