For those living in California...

i want to replace my stock intake with the k&n one. For the performance it adds, do you guys think it's worth it to put it back to stock when doing smog checks?

If it's just a filter replacement then leave it alone for smog checks. If you want a the cool turbo sound, get the NM intake, it's 50 state legal.

Do you have a link? I couldn't find one for the base r56, I only found ones for cooper s. I saw the ddmworks intake for r56 base http://www.outmotoring.com/mini-cooper/DDM_WorksMINI_R55-r56-r57_Cooper-Intake.html

But was wondering if anyone has had experience with this and how th installation was

Did you check NM's website? It doesn't look like NM makes a Justa intake.

K&N does. From their website
K&N Intake Search Page for Mini R56 Justa

K&N's website uses the search results page to tell you if it's CARB legal, and it is.

http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...rod=69-2024TTK

and sorry i should specify my r56 is 2012 so i dont think 2010 would work would it?
